Editorial Review
APPLE AirPort Extreme - AirPort is the wireless networking technology that gets you on the Internet from practically anywhere - without cables, additional phone lines, or complex networking hardware. With AirPort Extreme enabled Macintosh systems, it's a snap to exchange files or play multiplayer games, using cutting edge 802.11g wireless technology, at up to 54 megabits per second! Because AirPort Extreme uses radio waves for communication, it even works through walls!

A Piece of cake to install, this thing works great 2007-01-11
Apple products have been consistently solid for me, and this one is no exception. I simply opened the side of my mac, plugged the card in, and when I turned the computer back on I was browsing the web wirelessly. Could not have been easier.

Apple Air Port Extreme Card 2007-01-10
Love the apple airprot extreme card. We set up wireless networking in our home and my mac is downstairs I have super fast speed

Very Easy To Install & Use 2007-01-09
Plugged right in and worked like a charm. No software to configure. Great buy. Great product.

Incompatiblr 2007-01-09
Incompatible with my iBook; Apple has such a phobia against providing 'System Requiremts' for their accessories; finally found the list on a vendors website. Amazon did not have this list. One has to do major resarch to find the info Apple won't provide ! !

Do not work with non-Apple access points! 2006-05-10
Does not work with non-Apple base stations! I had a PowerMac G5. I was told by Apple retail store clerks it will work any wireless G access points. But No! At my house my PC can see no less than 6 wireless AP's (some from neighbors, one mine). But this Airport card can only see one (which is an Apple Airport Station)! Tried everything ( Googled, set encryption modes, slow downed my LinkSys WAP tranfering bitrate to 2Mbps etc...) and no luck. Returning it tomorrow.

Perfect 2008-07-24
Easy to install on my old eMac. I already had a wireless network working so from opening the box to being online took no more than 15 minutes.

AirPort Express card easy to install 2008-02-14
This card fits the 2005 flat panel iMac with the ball base. I had the AirPort Express card out of the box and installed in my iMac in less than 10 minutes. As soon as the software installed, the WiFi nearest me was connected. Speed is incredible. If you buy without software, download from Apple ahead of time. Give yourself some overlap time if you're changing e-mail addresses.

Painless installation 2007-06-01
I purchased this card for a first generation 20" iMac G5. Installation is simple: release three captive screws at the bottom of the iMac, remove the back cover and pedestal, and insert the card into the retainer cage. The card plugs into a socket, plus it has an antenna cable. That's all there is to it.

Once rebooted, the machine will automatically detect the card but it will not turn on wireless networking. If you are ready to connect to a network then it takes maybe a minute or two to turn it on and pick the wireless access point.

The iMac is now at the opposite side of the house (brick, steel, concrete condo) and wireless performance with the D-Link WBR-1310 is great.

Most new Macs already have an airport card, so this product is primarily aimed at people that own slightly older Macs with a built-in airport socket/cage. The price is really good, these cards retailed for $79 when they originally came out. And once you plug it in, it works forever, I am yet to run into somebody that has had an airport extreme card fail, not even DOA.

Apple Airport Extreme Card 2007-03-26
I just installed the Airport Extreme Card on my eMac and have moved the computer as far away from the router as it can possibly be in my house. The signal is very strong and it is working great. Highly recommend this product.
