works great 2008-05-18
Adds a little more weight but gives you twice the battery time & the ability to use AA batteries in a pinch. Also feels better when using camera in portrait position. Take note, you do have to make sure you get your left hand out of the way when taking pictures in portrait or else it gets in the way of the flash.

Works Great 2007-09-13
What does one say about a battery pack? It works great. Makes it much simpler to be able to switch batteries and keep on shooting photographs. Canon has been a good product for me and their accessories always are an asset.

Item as advertised 2007-07-19
Works great. Much cheaper in long run then using the "special" camera batteries. Adorama slow to ship this item though, so plan ahead. Note that grip has a lockout switch for the extra shutter release, great added feature.

Staple accessory 2007-05-14
Actually purchased on a whim, and looking for an alternative to the expensive disposable batteries that the camera requires. I bought Energizer NH15BP-4 ACCU 2500mAh Rechargeable AA Batteries (Four-pack), and I haven't looked back since. The biggest benifit for me was that it actually relieved me of the knowledge that my lengthy set-up times and experimenting was costing me a great deal of money. Rechargeables simply allow me to focus on the subject, not the blinking battery light.

Bp-220 2007-01-14
Very good and helpful device. Adds quite a bit of bulk and weight. I would recommend you use it when you can't get ahold of the smaller batteries, or you are going on a trip. Vertical shutter release comes in very handy. It comes down to this, if you want more battery life you have to accept more bulk in your camera. Even with the battery pack my rebel k2 still weighs less than most digitals I have tried out.

Great product but one down side 2006-05-01

A Worthwhile Addition to Your Camera 2006-03-28
I always thought my Canon fit well in my hands but this battery grip made it feel like a PART of my hand. The extra 'portrait' shutter release is pretty useful and includes an ON-OFF switch in case you forget the second button is there. The grip allows you to use rechargables or cheap common alkaline AA batteries which will last something like 50% longer than the small lithium cells the camera takes (except in the freezing cold). Note that Canon recommends that you NEVER use lithium AA cells in the battery pack due to the sensitivity of the camera's electronics. All in all, this is a great accessory I can't imagine living without.

BP-220 -A MUST 2006-03-22
I will not consider using my camera without this battery pack;
all cameras should carry one.

Useful for astrophotography! 2005-07-29
When you take a long exposure photo whith a motorized camera the batteries drain whith the first picture (four hours exposure aprox.), and you wasted 8$ or more, whith this baby you take four cheap AA batts and take the same photo for less $, the recargeable NiMh batteries are the best choice, i take a three hours and a half exposure whith this ones. For last, Adorama ship is fast and very good package!

A nice upgrade for your SLR 2004-12-28
Battery grips have become a widely used accessory for those who use their SLR regularly. They typically add a grip to make vertical shooting easier and a expanded battery department to allow for longer sessions without battery changes. This grip in particular takes inexpensive and widely available AA batteries (4), which will save money quickly over the $12 or so a pair of the batteries that these cameras take on their own. Rechargable batteries work fine in the grip. Also included is an additional shutter release to go with the new vertical grip. I'd love to have seen a tripod socket in line with the lens and perhaps a sensor for Canon's remote shutter release, which isn't built into many bodies (if it has a shutter release button, all that would be needed is a cheap IR sensor). All in all, it's an inexpensive way to add value to your camera, save money on batteries, and simply look cooler.

Review: ... "Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

From the Back Cover The megapixel hype
The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
