Why clean your CD/DVD laser lens?

If you've even owned a phonograph player, you periodially cleaned the needle because of lint and dust. It's the same with the laser lens on a CD/DVD media player. They need to be cleaned of lint and dust and the easiest way to do this is to use a CD/DVD cleaning disk. I've owned other CD/DVD lens cleaning disks but the Memorex Lens Cleaner is one of the better units around. It also includes a sound optimization tool that walks you through the optimizing of your sound system speakers. Pretty awesome!

This was inexpensive, arrived quickly and did not work in any dvd/cd player I own. Beware if it seems too good to be true it is.

I tried this product on two DVD players. It seemed like it was working from the audio portion of the program. I was unable to get the associated video portion to work on screen. It was unable to clean the DVD players for them to work.
Not Mac compatible 2008-11-21
I bought this to clean the laser on my MacBook Pro, which had been struggling to read certain discs. The laptop couldn't mount this disc and just spits it out. I tried it in two other devices, a desktop computer and a Sony DVD player, and it was rejected by both of them too.
Excellent DVD Cleaner!! 2008-11-04
I have a Sony DVD player that is a few years old. I also belong to one of those movies by mail companies. Although I would clean each DVD when it came, more often than not my DVD player wouldn't play the DVD. I could take it in on my computer and play it with little or no problem, but that's not nearly as comfortable as stretching out on the couch. I was going to either end my membership in the rental place, or purchase a new DVD player. As a last resort, I purchased this cleaner and it worked exactly like the directions said. I have had no problems with any DVD that I've rented since then. I would highly recommend this to anyone with problems.

Excellent 2008-09-23
I recently bought a 14 year-old car and the cd player had trouble skipping from track to track and would sometimes think it had a CD in the player when it did not and would switch from the radio to CD randomly. After using this product, it's worked flawlessly.

I have a 10-year old DVD player. It inexplicably started to not play DVD's, even brand new ones. I used this on the player and it works fine now. I recommend this product for this purpose.

Memorex CD/DVD-Player Laser-Lens CleanerOur DVD kept stopping in the middle of a movie and would not continue playing. It is a year and a half old Panasonic VCR DVD Player. We were about to give up and thought as a last effort to buy the cleaner. It would not play in the player and kept giving the message "Cannot read DVD". So I tried it in our DVD Surround system and it worked great! Then I tried it in the DVD MANY MORE times and kept getting the same message. I went to the product reviews on Amazon and someone said that they experienced the same problem with the error message but they felt that even though they were getting the "cannot read DVD" message,it was still cleaning the DVD player. So I ran it through two more times and it fixed the problem. Our DVD is fixed! The cleaner never did the whole process but it worked anyhow.

I was getting a strange error every time I tried to burn a DVD with my Macbook pro. I researched online and it said my lens was dirty. This product fixed my problem in minutes. All I did was put it in, let it do it's thing and it ejected automatically.
I'm shocked that it worked.
