Best Of All Systems - Buy with PFB Vanish-Great Duo

I have been using hair removal systems for a few years, and this one is by far the best out there. Ingrown hairs were the only problem I experienced, but I found a great solution to that problem.. "PFB Vanish" Before PFB Vanish, I was frustrated with ingrown hairs and the sores that it created. PFB Vanish and emjoi together were the perfect solution!!!!

I love this product. It really works. The only downside is that it only runs for about a year. I'm now on my fourth one.

After reading the reviews here I felt that I had something to contribute so decided to post my own experience after 3 years of use with this product.
1) I am on my third broken unit. The units last less than one year. The company is not responsive when the unit fails and will not sell you replacement heads. The gears are made of nylon and the inherent weakness results in the gears stripping. The unit plugs quickly and is difficult to clean. When it heats up it is less effective because the gears no longer grab as well.
2) The unit is fairly slow overall. Much slower than shaving. If you are doing your full legs for the first time expect a couple of hours worth of work. I have dark hair and a lot of it, so perhaps less time for others..but it is SLOW. Prohibitively slow.
3) The unit is a little awkwardly shaped which makes it difficult to get into the nooks and crannies.
4) This unit is comparatively very expensive and the durability makes it not worth the investment.
5) The shaver attachment is worthless and the brush that comes with it for cleaning the head loses its stiffness and no longer effectively cleans out the head.
The positive is that this is a dual head system and it is effective at pulling even very short hairs or very course hairs. I would continue using it if the product was more durable and perhaps faster.
Don't let it scare you! It works!!

I used this product for the first time two days ago and I was really pleased w/ it! Too soon to know if ingrown hairs will be an issue, so that's why I only gave it a 4 and not a 5. On my first try, I did my legs AND my bikini line! I had an Epilady epilator back in the 80's and that was a true torture device. I tried it twice and never used it again. The Emjoi is NOTHING compared to that! If I was brave enough to try my bikini line on the first day AFTER doing my legs, that should tell you something, haha.
I would stress 2 things:
#1: DON'T use it on hair that is full length! I believe that makes a BIG difference it the amount of pain people experience. I shaved my legs and then let them get a bit "stubbly" THEN used the emjoi.
#2 Hold the skin taut and just take your time - dont' try to rush.
When I finished, my legs were smooth as if they had been waxed w/o the mess and w/o the hassle of going to a salon. Trim the bikini line first - DO NOT use it on full length hair -- I did a few full length hairs and I definitely felt a difference! If you can stand the pain of waxing or the pain of tweezing your eyebrows - then you can totally do this! It hurts a little yes, but nothing, NOTHING like that old epilator!!

I have owned this product for several years. It really works great. I use it on my legs, under arms, and bikini line. The hair doesn't need to be really long (like it does when you wax). Legs are easy to do and the results last for a long time. Underarms are a little tougher. . . just be sure to keep the skin pulled tight, otherwise it will be more painful. I have a tendency to get ingrown hairs when shaving my underarms, but when I use this product, I don't them at all. Plus, the underarm area doesn't look "dark" (due to the dark hair under the skin) and the results last a long time. This product also works great on the bikini line. Painful, yes. Results, great. And I also do not get ingrown hair after using the Emjoi.
Be sure to get this product with all the tweezers. Some people have complained that the tweezers spin in different directions. I find this design more efficient, especially with the underarms.
The Emjoi Optima works great! I recommend it all the time. It is a little painful, but gets better with practice.

The Epilator is very easy to use, but annoying to clean after use. Not only is it painful to use... but I also got a rash on my legs from using it. My doctor says its very common and he does not recommend me using it again, because obviously my skin was too sensitive. My sister, however, uses one and has not had a problem.

I've been using the Emjoi for about 5 years now and it's saved me time, $$$ and energy! AND it's awesome! I love it! I purchased one for my daughter and she's been using it for 4 years and refuses to use anything else. Hers finally died on her the other day (which prompted me to go on Amazon to get her another one) and she was frantic and S.O.S.'ed texted me.
THis product is amazing. It allows me to go sleeveless the ENTIRE summer. I used to wax every 2 weeks and in between waxings I would gradually start wearing sleeves in the summer. Not anymore. Love it! love it! love it!

Excellent Epilator 2008-07-04
I've had this epilator for several years and I love it. It removes unwanted hairs efficiently and it takes a long time for the hair to grow back. Therefore, I would never go back to shaving. It is also a reliable product since I've had it for a long time and I never had problems with it. I highly recommend the Emjoi AP99 Optima epilator.

I love this product, I already have an epliator but I wanted something that was faster. I am very satisfied with this product, since its so fast and has two times the coils, it gets the job done much quicker than my old epilator. It takes me about one hour to do my full legs with my old epilator, but with this one it take half the time.
The reason I did not give it 5 stars is cuz, the device is a little hard to hold and my hand gets tired and cramped sometimes. Also, the cord is in a weird spot and so it accidentally comes out sometimes. Another problem that others mind find is that its a little too big for small areas like the bikini area, but this was not an issue for me cuz I have a separate epilator for more smaller areas.
Overall, I would highly recommend the machine, I love it so much, its made my life so so so much easier.
