Mine only lasted 7 months, they won't honor warranty! 2005-08-11
Apex may be an inexpensive alternative for those of us on a small budget, but mine broke within 7 months and they won't honor the one year warranty. They said it would cost 215 dollars plus shipping and handling to repair a manufacturers default( the plastic just fell apart). Considering I only paid 100 dollars, I told them they were crazy. Then when I asked to speak to a supervisor they hung up on me. I guess it was great while it lasted.

Apex Digital should be sued 2005-03-16
Apex Digital products often fail within the first year. They have horrible customer service, false advertising, and fail to honor their warranties. Please check www.labbb.gov (Better Business Bureau) and search for Apex Digital to see the F rating the better business bureau has given them. Saving 10-15 dollars is not worth the hassle they cause.

Seems pretty good so far 2005-01-28
I got this Apex PD500 for "free" for buying some Lane furniture. It is my first portable, and so far it seems OK. Constructed a little cheaply, but it does work fine with a decent picture and OK sound (have not tried with headset yet). Controls are so easy my 5-year old son figured them out quickly and prefers to watch Scooby-do on this portable instead of regular TV! If it holds up, it will be great for use in our camper this summer.

DON'T BUY!!! 2005-01-09
I just want to warn you about this companies equipment. They don't stand behind it at all. So far I have owned 2 of their prodects and neither one has lasted 1 year. Unfortunately, their warentee is for 90 days. This Portable DVD players battery never worked (I brought 3 of them back before I got one that worked and that one stopped working after 40 days...and the batteries only warenteed for 30 days). This company does not stand behind their products and their customer service...well I guess they call it that...is useless. Trust me...don't buy anything from them. Save your money!!!

Great for the money 2004-11-22
This is my second portable DVD player. Just wanted an extra unit for the kids and for the money this one is great. It has many of the features of the more expensive units. I like the small size for travel, but some might find this a disadvatage. The picture was clear and the sound from the speakers was okay. It sounded better using the headphones. Lots of extra's were included including the car adapter. The only negative I found was the battery size, it was much larger than most other units I looked at.

Everyone in the family can use one of these! 2008-01-28
I bought this for my grandson and enjoyed it myself then when my granddaughter was ill she could watch "The Wiggles" all by herself and it plays my picture CD's and CD's and DVD's. You don't get better than this present...and it has all the necessary cables with it. Wow!

Sorry, but I don't agree! 2006-09-19
I bought mine for $215.00 almost 4 years ago, and it still works GREAT! I was a long-haul truck driver, and I needed something that didn't take up too much space. I used it on my truck for 2 years, and it worked well even when the truck was moving (CDs, you know). I especially like the fact that.it will play PAL as well as NTSC DVDs. I'm home now, and use it (still) as a backup machine. However I never used the battery, never even took it out of the box, so I can't testify as to it. I LOVE THIS MACHINE !!

Not worth it 2006-07-24
Died after a few months at which time the battery only lasted an hour, not worth it.

Poor Service 2006-07-10
The battery never held a charge. Sent message to customer service and never received a response. Wouldn't recommend this product or company.

Breaks Down -- Warranty No Good! 2005-11-12
I agree with all the other comments about this product not lasting very long. Ours worked fine for about a year then suddenly stopped playing for no reason. I called customer service and was basically told I was out of luck!
