PS/2 to USB adapter
2008-03-01
My good old Microsoft keyboard works with it just fine, but it will simply not work with my PS/2 Intellimouse connected to a Dell Inspiron 531 running Vista Home basic. I've had to waste another USB port.
Works as advertised

I like the small form-factor so that it doesn't hamper other items from being plugged into the USB ports on my Mac. We have two of these in our office and have had no problems or surprises, which is all I can ask.
no major complaints

I purchased this adapter because the one that came with my keyboard got lost the last time I moved. I wanted to find one like the one that came with the keyboard but couldn't. The only complaint I have with this product is the price. It seems that there should be a less expensive option when an adapter gets lost, but if it's out there I couldn't find one. I am happy with my purchase. It was cheaper than the local stores and as far as I can tell my keyboard works exactly like it did before I hooked it up to the adapter. I am not using it for the mouse as I already had the mouse plugged into the computer so I didn't really need to move it to the adapter. Overall this product does exactly what it says with no problems.
Adesso PS/2 to USB Adapter

Adesso PS/2 to USB Adapter, connects 2 PS/2 connectors to 1 USB port/hub (ADP-PU21 ) I bought this adapter for my new laptop so that I could use my wireless keyboard and mouse. Laptop keyboards are often way too compact and a cumbersome adjustment from a regular sized keyboard. Works great, wonderful value. Most newer laptops do not have PS/2 inputs for keyboards...so if you're looking to connect your wireless mouse and keyboard, this is exactly what you need!
The One to Buy

I have 4 computers connected through a KVM switch, and the newer ones have no PS/2 ports. I've tried virtually all of the available alternatives, and this is the only one which has worked right out of the box with both an HP laptop (Vista) a Dell Desktop (Vista) and a Gateway desktop (XP SP2). The workmanship on other splitters was awful--I returned one of the alternatives you can find on Amazon 3 different times--once the mouse worked, but not the kbd, once the kbd worked but not the mouse. I tried another unit where the kbd and mouse wire had to be swapped, and it stopped functioning in about two weeks. The replacement shipped for that one did not work at all...
This one worked right away on three different machines.
Go buy a cheaper one that you'll have to RMA 2 or 3 times before you give up, convince yourself that I'm right, and then come back and get this one. For the extra $8-$10 this one costs you'll be much happier.
Great!

I bought 2 items - 4 years ago and 4 days ago. On all my machines with Windows XP it works just as described - Windows XP automatically detected the device and installed the necessary drivers.
Works great with laptop / ubuntu

I use these to connect a mouse and keyboard to my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad t61p). I bought two of these, one for work and one for home. They work great under Windows XP and Ubuntu Gutsy / Heron without needing drivers. The first few keystrokes after the laptop boots are either duplicated or missed, but it works fine after that. I usually use a USB mouse rather than a PS/2, but I've tried a few PS/2 mice and it seems to work fine for these as well.
Worthwhile gadget.

Awesome invention! My laptops don't have PS2 ports. I use the adapter to hook up my laptop to my KVM switch. I can now efforlessly switch between my desktop PC and my laptop, using 1 keyboard, 1 mouse and 1 monitor. Works on both Dell and Lenovo laptops, one with Windows XP, the other with XP Pro.
Does not work with USB cordless mice & PS/2 KVMs

This converter does not work to connect a Logitech USB wireless mouse on a PS/2 KVM switch. Someone said it did work, but it doesn't. I wish I wouldn't have wasted money on this.
It did the job for me..

I bought a KVN with PS/2 connectors (mouse - keyboard) the problem is that I got second PC that didn't have PS/2 ports. I read a review where someone was able to connect a similar PC to a KVN using this adapter. I bought it in the hope of doing the same. In truth and in fact, it did a great job and worked just fine, so now I am able to connect my KVN to any PC via a USB port.
