The heads, of course, work - and you'll get a much improved shave after you pry them out of their theft resistant packaging and carefully install them. They cost about 50% of a new corded razor though, so if you need any other part - like a the plastic head cover or a cord - you might be better off buying a new razor. If you have, as I do, a rechargeable model (and the batteries are still good), you might want to buy the cheapest corded model using the same head assembly and scavenger it for parts. The model 6423LC sells for less than $40 at Amazon today (12Apr08) and is the least expensive model I found there that uses the same head assembly.

I was delighted to find these on Amazon- for some reason Norelco has a number of different replacement blades for their electric shavers and they're not easy to find. What an asset Amazon is, especially at a time when gas prices are so high!!!!

I did not realize how overdue I was for replacement heads until I replaced them. I do not know the interval recommended, but if the shave is not as good as you remember when you bought the new product, you are due!

Time to upgrade your razor? Nope, just get a set of new shaving heads and you can save some money. These new heads give you a close shave. Although, if your razor is really old, you MIGHT need to upgrade/replace the battery, if it is a cordless/battery shaver.

Nice at first, but within a month I was having trouble with razor burn on my neck and all sorts of missed hair; worse than my original heads. Tolerated for 3 months, then bought a foil shaver, which always worked well for my beard in the past. YMMV.
