Midland WR 300 Weather Radio 2008-09-15
Amazon delivery was fast. Three days on free delivery.
This is the best alert weather radio I have ever had. It is easy to set up. The reception is great with the built in antenna and I live way out in the country where we don't even have cable television on broad band. The AM-FM radio is fair but I bought this for its' capability as an alert weather radio. It works and I am totally satisfied.

Midland WR300 weather alert radio 2008-09-09
After reviewing all of the weather alert radios on Amazon.com I chose the WR300 because of the many good reviews posted there. This product was shipped to me in less than one week. It was very simple to set up and has worked beautifully. Hurricane Fay was approaching and all pertinent information was broadcast into our house in a timely manner. We have not received any unimportant messages in the thirty days following Fay. It is good to know that our radio is always "listening" for weather that needs our attention. I will gladly give this product five stars.

great little radio 2008-09-06
The Midland WR300 is exactly what i wanted. Easily program in alarm settings, coverage area or areas. AM/FM can be handy, works good in basement, adjustable volumes...
4-AA backup batteries not included, but recommended!

Great Safety Radio 2008-08-24
We live in Tornado country so I disabled the audio alert for almost all alerts with the exception of Tornado Warnings. It does exactly what it is supposed to do by displaying a light for watches and other alerts and when your sleeping and a loud audio alarm for Tornado Warnings's. We live in a rural area where we can't hear the sirens in town so in my opinion this is a mandatory safety item for my family.

Midland WR-300 2008-08-24
Hurricane Fay stuck around a long time in Volusia Couty, Florida. Glad I had the monitor. Not a piece of cake to set up, but not too difficult either. Got a few "flood" warnings at 2:00 a.m, (I am high and dry) but I took them out the next day and all is well. Live in Florida? Probably don't need snow storm warnings! Take the time to set up properly and it works wonderfully.

4-1/2 Stars 2008-08-20
This is a great weather alert radio. I bought it this spring when we were having constant severe weather here in Nebraska and our old weather radio had seen better days. More than once it alerted me to severe weather when I had no idea anything was nearby. I particularly like the power/battery option. I leave it plugged in but know it'll still work if the power goes out (which it did a few times this spring.) It's also easy to program to your own county's alerts. And you can easily switch back and forth between the National Weather Service broadcast and your local AM or FM station broadcast.

I like this so well I'm buying 2 more to give for Christmas this year. The ONLY reason I'm deducting half a star is because of the beep every time you make a change (radio channels at every point: 95.1 95.2 95.3 etc.) But Amazon doesn't give a choice for half a star so overall I'd have to rate it at 5 stars. (Beep is only annoying when you change settings.)

Would like a little more. 2008-08-18
Great unit, but it has a couple features that I would expect.

The key beep is annoying and I would like the ability to turn it off. When a weather alert occurs it does not display which county code it applies to.
