OK only if you have a strong signal 2008-07-14
This device works well if you have a strong signal and little interference. I had to go to using a Netgear WPN111 to get a good connection all the time.

don't waste your money on this junk 2008-07-14
terrible product. frequently drops connection to the router several times a day. not stable at all. really annoying when i'm surfing the net or downloading files and it looses connection to the router.

linksys should be embarrassed to sell such a piece of junk. i thought for the longest time that i was loosing connection / droppping connection because of my linksys wcg200 gateway router only to find out that it is not a wcg200 problem at all but rather a flaky and unstable WUSB54G adapter. and there is absolutely no excuse for the dropping connections since i have no interfering wireless phones, or other wireless devices using the same band, and plus add to the adapter is only about 20 feet away. don't buy this product or you'll be sorry.

I wouldn't even think about selling this junk on ebay to anyone, instead I'm putting it where it belongs... in the trash! I'm switching to the Hawking HWU8DD wireless adapter.

Compact Unit that is Perfect for my needs 2008-06-20
I am not computer savvy and I found the Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G USB adapter very easy to set up. And it connected immediately to my Linksys Wireless router. If I can get it to work, anyone should be able too. It is not as fast as being direct connected via wire, but it worked just great for me.

I have been very satisfied with it. I only notice the slower rate of transfer when I have a large download. But I usually use this computer just as a remote terminal and not my main computer. I find that it is fine for browsing, sending e-mails and updating websites. Note; this review does not address a situation where you may want to use it to play a graphic intensive online game. I have computers set up for gaming in another room connected to the main router.

I love this router! 2008-05-13
I am so happy with this router! It was very easy to set-up and I don't know much about routers!

A very difficult company to deal with 2008-05-06
This is a bad company. I purchased a wireless router from them and, truth be told, it never really worked right. The speed was ok, but it was impossible to set up without tech support and every so often it would simply stop working. When that happened I would be forced to call tech support and spend 30-60 minutes on the phone fighting with them about resetting the router. I recently purchased a new computer and decided to save a little money by moving this router to it. When I called tech support I was told that the router was out of its warranty period and they could not help me... unless I would pay them to. That's right, I would have to pay for the assistance on their product - a working product because it was not under warranty.

So be warned that you are only buying the option to use Linksys' products for a limited time - that is if you have any problems whatsoever that require tech support. I am now trying a Trendnet. Let's see if they are any better.

Works fine but a little slow 2008-05-05

This doesn't work with Tivo! 2008-04-21
I had to return this adapter and get one that works with Tivo.
I was very pleased with the prompt delivery of the product and also with the return policy and quick credit to my account.
The only negative was the disc that came with the adapter did not work and I had to find and dload the drivers online.

Linksys WUSB54G USB-Adapter 2008-04-09
Linksys WUSB54G Wireless-G USB Adapter

Up to now, it's still not working!!! I'm trying to use this with my desktop and cannot complete the setup (profile status). My router is a Linksys G Speedbooster but somehow this USB adapter cannot communicate. Will just try to use a wired connection with my desktop. Meantime, this USB adapter unit is useless!

Does it's job! 2008-03-30
Does what it's suppose to do. I have a desktop in my basement and wanted to use it as a backup. My problem was I had no Phone jack or cable hook up near by. I chose to use this USB adapter for its ease of hook up. I also bought a Linksys router (WRT54G). It at first didn't work, but called custumer service ( yes, in India)for help. They took me step by step on setting everything up and even though there was a communitcation barrier, I got it working. It has worked well now for a few months with no problems and even though it may alittle slower than I would like (could be my old computer) I can still do everything on line I want to. I'm not a game player, so can't comment on that area. Would highly recommed the USB adapter, but do so with the same family router. I think you will be satified.

I was trying this product for years. Always the same trouble. 2008-03-28
I was buying this product for some of my clients for many years.
I also had one for my wife, and it was nothing but frustration.
Even if you get a strong signal, it will drop, or it will become weak from time to time. Completely unreliable.

Then, most of these units after a while stop working, become corrupted and unusable.

I highly recommend PCI cards. Avoid wireless USB adapters like a plague.
