great program

every child learns at a different level and a different pace. my son is 2 year old on sept 07. my son loves to sing and dance. he has mastered sounding out the letters from this program. without this program he would not be able to sound out all the letters of the alphabet. i've tried other program which sucks sucks. it was by accident i had the vhs version of this program. it's ashame that you don't see this product out on the shelves. thank you rock n learn.

Not Very Rockin!

This video does not really tie anything concrete to each letter which made it difficult for my child to retain the sound each letter makes. It also does not spend a lot of time helping your child learn each letter/sound before jumping into these silly quizzes about putting sounds together and asking what sound certain words begin with. We then bought the Leapfrog Letter Factory, and within 2 weeks my son knew all of his letters and sounds. Skip this one and go with a quality video. If you're looking for an introductory letter recognition dvd, this is not it.

You can preview excerpts from this DVD online at www.rocknlearn.com. Reading a review is one thing, but seeing it for yourself BEFORE you buy is even better. You can even let your child view the excerpts and see if he/she appears interested in the DVD, which is what I did.

Will be buying more of this series

I was hesitant to purchase this because of the title "Rock N Learn". I was expecting harsh sound and fast moving images, and something designed more to entertain than teach, but this is not what I found at all. This is very pleasant, slow moving, calm, and well designed for teaching.

After sampling other children's educational videos and being disappointed, I am very excited after purchasing this one. This not only the best I have found, I am completely happy with what I have seen and my 2 year old child loves it (even though its says for ages 4 and up). We haven't watching it entirely yet, since its a little beyond him, but even at this age, he enjoys the first lessons.

I will definitely be buying more of Rock N Learn.

This is one of the best preschool learning products out there. My son loves this video, and he quickly began separating out the beginning sounds of the all words he encountered, which is a very important step in learning to read. I highly recommend this to the parents of little ones that are learning letter sounds.

best for beginners in phonics

The attention-grabbing on-screen mouth shows how to form each sound properly. The excitement continues as students race the clock to say letter sounds before hearing the answers. They'll giggle along as they name the letters heard in silly sentences. Combining letters to make words comes next. And at last, after practicing with common sight words, it's time to read stories composed of simple sentences. Approximately 55 minutes. Perfect for use before Rock 'N Learn Phonics video.

Kids love it

We checked this out at the library and my 5 year old requested watching it every night for 3 weeks. I had to return it and two weeks later he's still singing their alphabet song and repeating the letter sounds. We gotta buy it. My 3 year old enjoys it also.
