DANGEROUS... DELTA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS PRODUCT
2006-10-15
I have owned the bed and it is very DANGEROUS for a child. I am stunned that this product is still on the market. while it is very cute, and fairly priced you hardly get what you pay for. My daughter loved the look of this--- her first "big girl" bed. that was until it fell to pieces with her in IT! The metal rails that are to hold the bed together, and the matress in place, are not properly planned out. If you can even manage to get this bed built--- which is difficult, much more so than it seems at first---- the metal support bars fall out when the child gets into the bed. it is flimsy, poorly designed, dissapointing, and DANGEROUS. delta should be ashamed!
Very upset

I am so disgusted that I woke at 5am on black friday to drive 12 miles to walmart to purchase a Dora toddler bed. I held the Dora toddler bed until christmas, when on Christmas eve I went to put it together and the pieces were package wrong and I was unable to assemble the bed at all. I ended up returning the bed, in exchange fr nothing. I found out that they no longer carry the bed.
Great bed finally came.

the first time we ordered this bed half the parts was missing. i called the wonderful customer service people and they sent a replacement bed. after a long wait it finally came. it was a little hard to put together but with good "know how" this bed can be put together within 30-45 min. it is very sturdy, i had my husband test it out, he jiggled and jubbled it and it stayed together perfectly. my daughter loves it.
dora deserves better

wow- cheap plastic, poorly routed holes, took 1/2 an hour to finally reach the conclusion that the screws could not align properly due to bad construction - sent it back - my daughter loved the Dora picture and was very sad that she couldn't keep it.
Outstanding for the price!!!!

This bed had easy to follow instructions which clearly state it is made for children under 50 pounds. It has stayed firmly together as we have read and followed the guidelines for proper assembly and use. My daughter is 2 and a half and weighs 32 pounds and we have had no problems with this bed! She loves it and so do about half her stuffed animals!!! I recommend buying this with the toy storage system she loves which makes it easy for her to pick up her room:)
Okay To Sleep In. Impossible To Assemble!

It's hard for me to review this bed. On one hand, my daughter loves it. On the other hand, it stinks! I was up until 3AM trying to get this bed set up for Christmas morning. I couldn't get it to assemble correctly. No matter what I did... and I am really good at putting furniture together. This one was a nightmare. The bed itself is cool. Not worth the money it cost, but it is nice and big enough for my daughter who is almost 6. It's pink, so that's a plus for her. And it's Dora, so you know... she likes it. But I don't think this product is the safest thing in the world. My kid is pretty good and she won't jump on the bed or anything, so I don't know how this would hold up if she did jump on it. I wouldn't trust it to hold up.
This bed is all set up now in our home so it's not an issue anymore, but I wish I never purchased this bed. It is way too expensive and it had me pulling my hair out trying to get it assembled. Just because it's Dora doesn't mean it's awesome. I wish Swiper would some swipe this bed from our home.
Great for the money

In all fairness, I bought the bed in a box, not just the bed alone, but I think it is definitely worth the money.
It isn't sturdy like a more expensive toddler bed, say a wooden bed. But it is plenty sturdy. I weigh 190 and sat on it without thinking to read to my little gal, and the bed held me up fine, no wobbles or anything.
The head and footboards are heavy plastic. I know a lot of people have complained about it, but I still think it is worth the money. Because it looks more like a toy, my 20 month old LOVES it. And it gets her to sleep through the nite, alone, and that makes us VERY happy.
She was very unhappy in her expensive crib, but sleeps like a dream in this bed. Waking to see Dora every morn gets her off to a good start.
Yes, as you have read, it is difficult to put together. My hubby said that once you get it together, you will never be able to get it apart, lol. That's a good thing. It takes some talent to put it together, but again, it is worth the money.
Listen, bottom line is, it is inexpensive, adorable, sturdy, looks like a toy, and makes my gal want to sleep in it. How can I ask for more?
If your lil one likes Dora, I highly suggest buying this.
Very Pleased

Bought this for my 2 year old grandaughter. She's tiny and was afraid of the bigger bed, so this was perfect for her. She loves the bed and sleeps very well in it.
Daughter loves it

Great Bed

Bed is great. Took a while to put together but have had absolutely no problems with it. My wife who weights about 125 lbs has laid on this bed and it has not even come close to falling apart. It states max weight should be 50 lbs but it appears to handle more than double. My daughter loves it and I recommend it if you dont mind the time it takes to put together. Sure it was a bit tricky but I believe the way the poles are made is for it to have more support. Loved the fact I could use the mattress from her crib.
