Save Your Money - Pass on this product - No Virgin Support 2005-05-24
I have owned the product for less than 24 hours. I tried to get a users manual by contacting Virgin Pulse. The phone message said to contact Virgin Electronics via e-mail. I tried that and they pointed me to a web site for the user manual. Virgin Customer Support could not send me a user manual, even giving them my address in the e-mail. They did not answer my question about my 90 Day/1-year warranty. I was very disappointed in their Customer Support. There is no TV antenna in the box and the antenna that is on the TV is for the radio only. The screen display was too bright, even after selecting the Factory default setting. I had to go into Memory and do some changes to make it look somewhat viewable. If you can't get Customer Support for the Virgin product, what good is having a warranty. I am very disappointed in this product support - It's like Virgin doesn't care about the customer. I suggest you psss on any Virgin Electronics products for now.

Perfect for my family!! :) 2004-12-29
We have been looking for a portable tv and this one is just what we needed. It has an awesome surround sound built in to the body of it. And the picture is clear. We have 2 little kids and this is great for them. The LCD is big enough so they both can see it without having to strain. It also has a jpeg viewer so you can leave it on and have a slide show playing where ever you want. The cool thing about it is, it's just like a normal tv. Only you can take it where ever you go!! It's cable ready, car ready, wall ready, everything about it is convenient. We are very happy with it. I got a kick out of some of the reviews that said it was too bulky( It's not a laptop tv it's a portable tv). It's not too heavy, which makes for easy travel. You could have an arm full and still carry this tv!! Think camping, moving from room to room, over to a friends, in the kitchen, almost anywhere. Not recommended for smaller vehicles!!!

Bulky as a CRT TV 2004-11-30
I don't know why but i don't like this product. Too bulky to me. It's like a huge CRT TV.

Four Stars 2004-11-06
Purchased this compact TV/DVD/RADIO Player. I am very happy in general with it. It was purchased for my kitchen. It has great sound and the picture is clear-the screen is a bit small but thats o.k. However if I move around -from the side view it is not as clear as I would have liked but the picture is still visible. So over all I am quite pleased.

VIRGIN PULSE 10.4 Inch LCD/DVD 2004-04-01
Checked this out as thought it would work well in home as well as car and the price was right. This product probably has the worst picture I have seen in a Lcd. Could not see a good picture at any angle, if you went one degree one way or the other, it would get blurry. Took it back after 2 minutes of use. I do give it two stars for fair value and decent audio.

Almost perfect! 2003-11-26

Almost perfect! 2003-11-26
Just about everything you could want in a compact package. I bought it to use in an RV where I have very little room to spare and needed something real stingy on power (12 volts only). A couple of little things you should be aware of if you are considering buying: The unit is 5 inches thick. If you think of it as a flat TV you mount on a wall, you may be disappointed. The extra thickness does allow for more of a speaker enclosure because the sound is surprisingly good. The display is bright with good color rendition but off axis viewing is poor. You have to be pretty much looking directly perpendicular to the screen avoid color shift. It would be difficult for 3 or more people to optimally view at once unless they were really good friends. Input/output connectivity is on the right side. If wall mounting (a nice set of brackets and a template is provided) is done, the wires will be in relatively plain view. I would have preferred a recessed alcove on the rear. The F connector for the TV (only) is on the left side (again, difficult to conceal the wire) The FM section has its own telescoping antenna and is not shared with the TV's F connector. If you have FM and TV/cable coming in on a common coax, the unit does appear to utilize the cable FM. One thing not mentioned is the *.JPG viewing function. If you place a disk full of *.JPG picture files in the drive, the unit displays them, sequentially, displaying them about 5 seconds each. If you insert a disk with *.MP3 files on it, the first several characters of the filename is displayed on the LCD. You can turn off the screen while playing *.MP3 files. I nice feature for me to conserve power. If you have a tiny apartment or a small office, this unit makes a nice complete, compact, personal entertainment system.
