Pretty good scale

this scale offers several very nice features including the easy to read digital display showing tenths of a pound. However it supposed to be programmable to calculate and display BMI and hold history for several users. The programming function doesn't work and the instructions don't give any directions for dealing with the error messages related to it.

DO NOT BUY this Item! Weighed myself 25 times and got a different weight each time. Had a difference of 5 pounds several times. Should not get one star but that is as low as you can choose.

Excellent, reliable scale

I must respectfully disagree with the reviews that have slighted this scale. I purchased this scale from Sears in 2003 and it's worked perfectly since then. It has been able to measure my weight increases and decreases (not enough of those!) as well as my body fat % with very precise measurements.

I clean the metal pads every so often and step onto the scale with precision, so as to avoid flinging it around by stepping onto the corner of the unit.

The only complaint I would have would be that the unit is too light, so unless you have good balance and can step into the center of each side of the scale when you need to, it will flip over.

Also, the time that it waits in "ready mode" is fine for me, but I can see it being too short for people who have less sure footing or who are older or who are very overweight. I could imagine that the unit would "timeout" waiting for someone to step onto the scale properly, especially for the body fat measurements.

This is why I cannot give this unit 5 stars. However, since it would likely work well for anyone under 60 who does not have poor balance, I do give it four stars and recommend it for anyone else.

Overall, it is a reliable scale if you have reasonable balance and can quickly step into the correct area for performing measurements.

Very poor

I would not recommend these scales. The weight reported is never the same, even if you use it twice in five minutes. I've only once managed to get my feet in just the right spot to get the body fat and bmi functions to work. All other times I simply get 'Err'. Don't waste your time or money with these scales.

Good scale

Good scale, but under actual weight by a few pounds. But I have found that it is consistant, so you can still track your weight loss with accuracy. Not bad for the price.

The problems that I have with the scale are (1) The body weight feature does not give clear or consistent readings, it will literally give you a different weight every time you step on it. (2)The body fat feature doesn't seem accurate, it gives a pretty high reading, I am a personal trainer with access to other body fat analyzers,(the weight watchers scale has me just over 23% when I'm actually about 15%).
The reasons I'm not returning it are: (1) It has nice design with useful features such as program memory. (2) Comes with useful tips about dieting and using the scale properly.

Has issues

When I first ordered this scale, it would not turn on at all (and battery was in place). I returned it and got another one which did turn on, but the body fat % feature does not work at all, it keeps returning me "Err". So all it does is measure my weight, which my old scale did already, so it was a waste of money for me. It sounds like different people have different luck with these.

Accurate But Time Consuming

The scale is great looking and proved to be accurate when compared to other known accurate scales. However, the scale takes about 15 seconds to settle down on one number. It keeps searching up and down about one pound each way until settling on one number. If your not a patient person you won't like it.
