it's cheap in two ways! 2008-05-27
i bought this and it was not what i expected! it was so fuzzy! i expected better! it was so bad i could only use it to do little things! do not buy this it is a waste of money!

Great Mic 2007-01-20
I have had two of these microphone for about two years. It has worked well for me, but I have noticed the fuzziness-I guess I'll try plugging it into the line input. I own two of them, and I am rather dissapointed that you can't use 2 at a time. A great product improvement would be to add at least one more frequency to the mic so you can use more. The company would probably sell more if they did that, too.

Anyway, overall, I am relatively pleased with this set, and I hope my review helped you.

2 Wireless Mic's together 2006-05-29
This is in response to the question of whether or not you can use 2 microphones together. No you cannot. They are on the same frequency and it causes a lot of feedback. Painful for the ears, but they should definetly make the product so that you can change the frequency and use more than 1 wireless microphone.

Limited Usefulness 2005-06-28
Range is EXTREMELY short for this microphone, like 7 feet. If the person blocks the "line of sight" to the antenna the range the microphone cuts out. A very disappointing product but it is an inexpensive consumer item, about 1/5 the price of a "real" wireless microphone and receiver unit.

You get what you pay for! 2004-12-06
This mic is ok for little kids. But it is very fuzzy. I gave it many chances now I'm returning it.

Do not use unless you have a Line IN input 2004-10-24

Here's an in-depth review of this wireless mic 2004-10-14
I work professionally as an audiovisual technician, and grabbed this mic on the cheap because I throw an annual karaoke event using mostly wired equipment; I'm accustomed to using high-end Shure wireless kits from day to day, but I can't afford those for my little shindigs!

My first impression is that this is not a bad product for the money at all. The transmitter (microphone) takes one nine-volt battery, while the receiver (base) can either be plugged into an outlet or fitted with a pair of AA batteries. The manual doesn't specify battery life, and I haven't stress tested that part yet. The kit comes with a patch cord that is 1/8-inch "mini" to quarter-inch. The mini end plugs into the base.

The range of the microphone is 7 meters, about 21 feet. The microphone works best when you're line-of-sight with the base (i.e. you're facing it), though I was able to get the microphone to transmit from my living room to my study-- only 15 feet, but around 2 corners. Be warned that if you like to dance and twirl or are otherwise not mostly facing the receiver, you'll experience some audio dropouts. It's not a big deal-- there aren't any horrible bursts of static-- but your voice will be momentarily muted. Placing the microphone base at the edge of the stage, with a cord run to the machine or mixer, would almost certainly minimize or eliminate audio dropouts.

Another reviewer has complained that this mic is 'fuzzy.' I don't find that to be true, BUT BUT BUT-- the microphone outputs a line level signal, rather than the more common microphone level signal. Line level is lower-impedance and higher-level-- very generally speaking, a LOUDER signal than mic level, so if you make the mistake of plugging this microphone into a microphone-level input-- which many mixers and karaoke machines use primarily for microphones-- you'll undoubtedly encounter 'fuzziness', really just heavy distortion. If you get one of these, make sure you plug it into a LINE INPUT on your karaoke machine or mixer.

My tech-head brain still has a couple of questions about this unit, though. You can't change the frequency on either the mic or the base. Does this mean that only one of these Memorex wireless kits can be used at a time, or could several be bought and used? I don't know this, and I'm scared to sink another $20 and test it out. Someone please buy two of these and report back! :-)

I absolutely love it! 2004-07-27
I love this wireless microphone, but if you go too far away from the reciever, the microphone will turn off. Other than that, there are really no other problems I have had with it. I love being able to take the microphone anywhere without the cords tripping and tangling around me. I hope I helped you make your decision! This microphone set is great; I want to get another one!

i love it but... 2004-06-15
i love this mic. but if u need it to dj DON'T get it i is really fuzzy.

Worth It 2004-04-01
This product is very good for parties that you are going to have Karaoke at!!!! It is very powerful!!!! It is also useful instead of carrying a cord around!!!! This would be great for anyone who likes to sing on a karaoke machine!!! It works on all karaoke machines and it does look a lot different but it is still good looking!!!! Thank you Target for carrying it at such a low, low, low cost!!! It would have cost me a whole lot more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!
