Great Trap!

The two door design seemed like "over-kill" (no double entendre inferred), but we caught two feral cats at once! Woo hoo! I couldn't have caught them otherwise and they needed to be spayed.

I had a smaller havahart trap that I was using for squirrels it was working very well ,until something big enough was coming along and stealing the bate and setting off the trap ,afer much pondering I decided to get a 1050 and in the matter of days had caught my culprit a Ginourmous racoon ,3 days later a huge opposum............since then I started getting the squirrels again.
The 1050 has spring loaded doors that latch shut when the trap trigger is engaged
I take the animals to the local woods and release them where there is plenty of nuts and berrys .if you have gritters this is a great trap

Animal Cage

This two door cage is sturdy and has an easy latching mechanism. It is cost comparable with the single door cage. The cage should be secured to the ground because a large animasl like a racoon will move it. It does remain latched even if tipped over by the animal inside.

Great Cage at a Great Price!

Purchased this cage to trap a family of racoons that were living in a small wooded area behind our house. Caught one the first night it was set out. Tried using it to trap a pesky armadillo, but with no luck on several attempts. This cage is fairly sturdy. The only think I don't like about it is when you let the animal go, you have to place a stick or small pole through the cage to hold the door open for the animal to escape.

This is a well constructed Sturdy trap. It works really well for larger annimals...will not spring with small light annimals like rabbits, but you sure will catch woodchucks and raccoons with this trap. Easy release and no harm to the critters...Beats the alternatives!! Just pray you don't catch a skunk!!...Good Luck..Ken Prosch

I tried everything for Mr. Groundhog. He was quite content and was not
leaving after ammonia, moth balls, ripping down the lattice around the deck, bleach in the holes. I was just about to give up and live with the fact that nature had defeated me when I read all the reviews about this particular trap. Believe me, I had my reservations as I have never ever trapped anything in my life.
But to my sweet surprise it worked on day 3. It probably would of worked sooner, but I didn't follow directions and put my bait in the wrong spot. He did go in and eat it however, so it would of worked on day 1. Day 2, he must of gotten in there and eaten again. My advice would be to cram whatever your bait is way under the plate so that the animal has to work at getting it.
We eventually caught him with one apple slice stuck way under the plate.

Thank you so much for this trap. I can now enter the backyard and walk on the deck in peace without looking to see where my furry friend is and if he is going to dart at anyone.

Trap

The trap works well, and provides suprises, two nights two skunks. The problem was getting them out. I tapped the trap with a long pole, hoping they would shoot their load. One did, but the second saved some. Got me on the upper body from 10 plus feet away. Finally covered and moved them into the truck bed. Made two 10 mile trips into the boonies. Released each one in the same place. Hope they are happy. Wished Havahart had a better release mechanism.

Humane and functional

I had one of these when I was a kid (many many years ago) and I think the latest design is less sturdy than they used to be, but nevertheless this is still a great gadget for critter catching without harming the critter. We had an unknown varmit using our swimming pool as a toilet during the nights, so I ordered this to "catch and transfer."

It took about a week, but the culprit turned out to be a large sized racoon. We were able to safely transport him out to the wilds of the everglades so he could be with his own kind. The trap worked well for us and with proper care will last for many years.
