Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Worked just as I expected. Once in the PCI slot the computer immediately recognized it and it works perfectly giving me USB 2 capability where it is needed (external HDD etc.). There are plenty of cheaper options in the market, but I went with this one because I felt that a branded model would have the best chance of immediately working well, and it does.
It's a no brainer

I usually don't deal with the hardware side of my old HP. But I needed a USB 2.0 port for my new external hard drive. This is such a breeze to install. Just find an empty slot, put it in and voila! XP recognizes it right away. I was up and running with it in less than 10 minutes!
Breathes new life into an old system!

I received an old computer last month and of course, it came with a usb 1.1 port, I couldn't have that so I bought this card, and oh what a difference it has made, I recognizes the devices extremely fast and I can transfer the data on my other computer to this one quickly and without incident. Definetly buy this card!
Saved my computers life

I was going to scrap my old Dell 700MHz desktop but took a chance and installed XP Home w/SP2 and this card in the last open slot. Everything runs fast. It's like a new computer. No glitches with this card (2 months now). Running two external hard drives and a HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. Still have one open external slot. If needed, I could daisy-chain a hub to get even more USB 2.0 slots. Very happy with this item. Can get another 2-3 years of life out of this computer. Waiting for the next generation of quad chipped CPUs to be born. This was truly a plug-n-play item. Very simple, very satisfied...Question: what could I connect to the one internal USB slot?
No problems after 1 month

XP recognized the card automatically. Sony PCV-RX450, 500MB, Athlon 1MHz. Using it for a USB 2.0 wireless receiver. I can't see a difference between using USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 with this wireless card -- the internet download speed is the same. Will try downloading from a camera and compare speed. Update later.
Amazing!

IOGEAR GIC251U 5-Port USB 2.0 PCI Card - Has the amount of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 devices you own out paced the amount of ports on your computer? If so, you need this USB card from IOGEAR. Simply insert it inside your computer into any available PCI slot. It gives you 4 external and 1 internal Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, for which to use with the latest Hi-Speed devices - like external hard drives, camcorders, scanners and more! Hot Swappable - you can connect and disconnect devices at will, without having to shut down your computer
Great Product and easy setup

Added this to my kids PC to get faster uploads and downloads from MP3's and Digital cameras. XP found the correct drivers and within minutes the faster ports were available!!!
Just works

I wanted to upgrade my Dell V350 pc from usb-1 to usb-2. I installed this card, Windows found the drivers without needing to use the cd, and it works fine. I did notice that the usb connectors do not seem to go in all the way, they stick out maybe 3/16" from flush, but this does not cause any problems.
Deep sleep issues

I bought this product to upgrade my aging PowerMac dual 450 G4. The card works perfectly for USB 2.0 but when I try to put the computer to sleep with a peripheral plugged in, the computer will not sleep. Apparently there were only a handful of USB 2.0 cards that will work correctly (allow sleep with peripheral plugged in) with the older macs. This isn't one of them. So if you're buying this for an older Mac you may want to keep looking.
easy to istall, low price

Anyone who has changed or installed a card knows how easy it is and this is no exception. It took a few minutes and a disk check before my computer recognized the card. I had some problems after installing this card but in fairness it may not be the cards fault. Sometimes my mouse wouldn't work until I unplugged and replugged usb or power cords or rebooted. The problem turned out to be the connection between the card and the card slot. The slot had never been used and there is 6 years worth of dust in there. After reseating the card I haven't had any problems.
