a stress reliever 2008-04-26
This product took a lot of stress off of me and my dog. In the past, the trimmer I used on his nails hurt him and he would yelp and refuse to let me have his paw. With this dremel tool, he lays quietly and the nail just files away. No stress, no fighting and best of all, I can keep his nails trimmed more often (which eases the pain a dog gets from having long nails). Great product! I wish I had discovered one of these 6 years ago when I got him.

Happy Dog 2008-04-25
Everyone says this thing eats batteries - they are right. It is a very greedy tool! I bought a battery recharger (a sound environmental choice anyway) but what really worked was simply loosening the black battery holder on the bottom so that when I stored the tool the battery connection was broken. Meanwhile, after just a few minutes, my dog who really, really doesn't like nail clippers (he has black nails and it's hard not to nip the quick) was on his back peacefully giving his feet over to the procedure. That said, I think if I had a very large dog with thick nails, I'd get a more "industrial strength" tool.

happy Paws! 2008-04-24
Got this to replace the spliting clippers I have. My dog hates to have his nails clipped. It has been an adjustment to the dremel. My dog was a little hesitant with the sound and feel, but it's a lot easier than clipping! I do one paw at a time and day and he's adjusting to it.

Dremel 2008-04-21
The Dremel product I got seems very good. Only wanted to mention one small problem I had with the instructions. I thought it was somewhat unclear as to how to attach the actual sanding apparatus. I had to have someone help me figure it out. It goes on the same way a drill bit goes on a drill, but darned if I could figure out how to do it, and I'm generally not stupid.
Other than that, it seems like a good value. It would be nice if it came with batteries or if the advertisement was clear that you need 4 Double A batteries. Had to make an additional trip into town (and I live on an island with very muddy dirt roads) to get them.

Pretty good product 2008-04-20
I've been pretty happy with this tool so far. The dogs got used to it very quickly and it is so much better than the clippers!!

I use 2500 mAH NiMH rechargeable batteries and can get two sets of nail grindings, one week apart, on my two dogs per charge. After that, the batteries have to be recharged.

Part of the problem might just be old style NiMH batteries that I'm using -- they lose charge after a while anyway. When these old batteries die, I'll try the eneloop-style batteries.

The tool body does get a bit hot during prolonged use.

Works great but eats batteries 2008-04-17
This is great product. It has made trimming our Greyhound's nails a brezee. By the second time I used it on him, he went to his bed and just let me trim as much as I needed. I like the price and that it is cordless. My only complaint is how quickly it goes through batteries. Make sure you get the big packages of batteries.

Gets the job done - pooch tested and approved 2008-04-15
Works great on my somewhat fussy German Shepherd - she now enjoys her mani-pedi time. Her nails are all heavily pigmented, so using clippers was always stressful (for both of us), but she took to the rotary tool straightaway without any complaint. It does generate a pretty intense smell, and unfortunately runs on AA batteries, but all-in-all a great purchase.

Works Great 2008-04-13
I thought this product was rechargeable, it is not, it is battery operated. This is not a deal breaker, I still love it.
My dog is 14 years old, and it took no time at all for her to get used to it. She has black nails and I have not nicked her once.
This is genius.

Great For Nails Once Your Pet Gets Use To It 2008-04-12
This is a great tool once your pet gets use to it. Our Jack Russell was getting its dewclaws hurt and trimming his nails every month wasn't enough. He was a little timid at first, but we used it everyday starting with only one nail and only for a few seconds. After about a week, we were using it for about a minute and the dog didn't mind a bit. We are increasing the time everyday. Just start slow and with time, your pet will learn to accept it. We highly recommend it.
