Editorial Review
With the Olympus Stylus 80, there are smiles in front and behind the camera. It's compact and lightweight camera, with a sophisticated auto exposure system that performs impressively under a variety of light conditions for superior compositions. An intelligent variable power flash system helps put light in its proper place so you and your picture subjects will never feel left in the dark again. The All-Weather design resists dust and moisture and makes for a great all-around point and shoot camera for many applications. A built-in 38 to 80mm zoom lens lets you modify what the camera "sees" to allow more flexibility when shooting different types of pictures. It's all automatic. Just aim and shoot. There's alot to be happy about. MultiFunction LCD screen displays Flash mode, Shooting mode, Selftimer, Date/Time, Film&Battery status Unit Dimensions WHD - 4.4 x 2.3 x 1.6 / Weight 6.4 oz

oops! -- mind that battery! 2005-10-30
One of the reasons I bought this camera was the description of the power source: "Requires two AA batteries--included". I was sick of buying expensive cells at a camera store, and I always have a sleeve of AA batts around the house. Sounded great.

Oops! When the camera arrived and I opened the battery door, there was nothing inside, and when I checked the manual I learned that no AA's need apply. Back to the camera store! Ten bucks for a pair of lithium cells.

A battery, says the manual, should be good for ten rolls of film. So add that to the lifetime cost of the camera.

It's a neat little camera, and I'm not planning to return it. But I was a wee bit disappointed.

olympus stylus 80 2005-06-23
Actually this is not any perticular camera that I want. I just bought it because the the average customer rating was five star and this was the only cool camera that I could afford.I still like it, because this is my very first own camera.I've even ask for accsesories for my birthday!the are a few scratches, but that's only because I made them. when I put the battery in, everything fuctioned normally, even though I had no film. at least buy an olympus camera!

Stylus 80 is great! 2004-12-29
This camera was bought for my wife for christmas and I must say that we loved everything about it, from it's ease of use all the way down to the solid feel of this small well crafted camera I only wish that It came with batteries so we could have gotten pictures X-mas morning.

Easy To Use Camera 2004-12-13
This is a great little camera that you can take on the go. It's SO easy to use. I have several cameras, but I find myself grabbing this one when I'm running out the door and think, "I should take a camera." I like the way the cover slides over to protect the lens. When you open that, it turns it on and you're ready to go. The zoom is adequate for 95% of the shots I want to take. The photo quality is very good for a compact camera. I like mine so much, I just ordered another one to give as a Christmas present.

Great product 2008-04-05
The camera is great tool for the money you pay! The seller should do better job with packaging though, upon arrival the camera's box was damaged!

Good camera 2007-04-01
This is a good camera for the money......I use a 35mm at times instead of my digital...this is great for the price.

Surprised/disappointed with poor quality of pictures 2007-02-16
I take a LOT of pictures of my 9 grandchildren and when I needed a new 35mm camera, this seemed ideal. However, I have been very disappointed with this camera's performance.

Outdoor pictures with no flash come out very well, but any photo requiring a flash does not. The center of the photo has some brightness to it, with the outside of the picture almost fading to black.

I have now gone to almost 100% digital shots.

Love the size! 2006-06-23
I loved the size of this camera when I received it...I just tossed it in my purse and it's ready whenever I catch my two-year-old doing something cute! The picture quality was fine for me. I am slightly disappointed that it takes lithium batteries, but not enough to go to 4 stars.

Small Camera-average quality prints 2006-03-04
This little camera has some nice features but really does not take any better pictures than my Fuji which was 1/2 the price.
There does seem to be a lot of difference in print quality depending on the finishing lab.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
