Gentlemen:
I received a gift of EZBinoCamII for Father's Day. The software was installed in
our HP Pavilion 532W computer that contains an Intel 4 processor and operates under the
Windows XP program. The specifications of this machine far exceed the minimum system
specifications printed on your box containing the program CD.
The purpose of this letter is to describe a number of problems and unsatisfactory
performance of this gift. The following enumerates these complaints:
1. A feature mentioned in your User Guide states that one feature is
"Download captured images to your computer like a hard disk drive via the Mass
Storage Device Function". Following installation, my computer stated that a
drive with a removable disk "G" exists for this function. No such drive exists on
my computer! Your instructions did not specify that a new external drive with a
removable disk was required. How do I unload the BinoCam pictures into your
Browser, Tools, or other processing programs contained in the software under
these circumstances?
2. The field of view for the digital camera is larger than the binoculars. The
picture of the subject is much smaller than viewed through the binoculars. No
instructions exist on how to make these field-of- views the same. Please explain!
3. The digital pictures are blurred. It is not known if this blurring is caused by
too few pixel elements in the camera or the focus of the camera is different from
that of the binoculars. (Motion of the camera and motion of the subject was ruled
out by using a tripod and taking the picture on a bright sunny day with no wind.)
Blurred pictures are useless! How can I get clear, sharp pictures?
4. The printout of instructions using your programs Help function resulted in
different quality printout. The result depends upon the print request. When the
request was to print out a sub-topic set of instructions, the instructions included
pictures within these instructions. However, when the print request was for a
topic and the following sub-topics, the instructions had no pictures and contained
confusing statements such as: `Also you can press "width = "16" height = "16">
based on the system resolution' Other scrambled data consists of "width = "303"
height = "116" followed by a rectangle. How can I obtain a clear, concise and
non-confusing set of instructions without printing each sub-topic separately?
I hereby request a step-by-step set of instructions on how to correct the above
defined deficiencies. If no response is received from you within the next 30 day, I will
forward a copy of this letter to Amazon.com. I will also declare to them that the
EZBinoCamII is a piece of junk and should be deleted from their products for sale list.
I can be reached using the telephone number (828) 926-2846 or by email using the
address em4eagle@dnet.net.

Sincerely,

Cheap! Cheap! Cheap! 2004-02-11
Had trouble loading software, which bugged my system. I had to do a system restore to get back to normal.

Computer never could see the Binocam. Never could access the pictures from the camera. The binoculars weren't even worth paying for.

These are so small that they fit in the palm of my hand. Don't waste your money on these cheap toys!

Review: ... "Click! The No Nonsense Guide to Digital Cameras" is misnamed. It covers a lot more than just cameras. In a couple of hundred pages, it includes using a scanner and Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 to rescue faded, damaged family photos, the basic guidelines to good picture taking, how to use Elements 2 to improve your digital photos, and how to print and preserve your pictures for the ages. White, the author of the bestseller "How Computers Work," knows how to pack a lot of helpful, understandable information in a brief no nonsense book.

Review: "This Camera is one of the best in its price range. It takes beautiful clear pictures and can be used right out of the box, but its worth learning all its features. The included memory holds about 20-25 pictures so I upgraded to 128mb. I reccomend getting a 128mb card and the Sony camera case. Not only is this one of the best cameras in its class it includes decent software and rechargeable batteries that are at least a 20$ value.
HIGHLY reccomend over canon, kodak, and fuji. One more thing this camera has CARL Zeiss lens (if you dont know, great lens) all the competetors have generic lens."

From the Back Cover The megapixel hype
The fact is a camera’s megapixel rating is only a measure of how many pixels (photosensitive sites) an image sensor has…. An image sensor is simply one component of an entire system that produces a digital photograph… So resist buying into the megapixel hype when you’re choosing a digital camera. From Chapter 1
