pocket hole or not, great screws

I bought these with the Kregg master pockethole kit. Perfect match for that kit. But these screws are great quality and can be severely driven with their square drive heads. I used with and without the Kregg pocket jig with great results.

I am relatively new to woodworking and have been building cabinets and other built-ins for the home. I recently purchased this set and used it to build frames for the cabinet doors. It works great. The joints are strong and frames are square. The best joinery method for this type of construction that I have found so far. The only problem that I encountered was the depth adjustment on the block. I set it at the recommended measurement, but the drill did not exit at mid line. This resulted in the screw going in too shallow on the joining piece and splitting the wood. After adjusting for this, it worked fine.

I have used the Kreg pocket hole screws and a Kreg jig on all of my style and rail projects and firmly believe you get a much stronger and tighter bond with these than the conventional glue and dowel or mortice and tenon joints.

I purchased this kit soon after I purchased the Kreg model R3 Jig. It's Amazing how fast and strong the joints are when using these screws and also very simple. I will recommend these screws and Jig kit to all my friends.
I had used the phillips type screws for several years and went through many bits, but the square slot screws are Great!

I ordered this item through Amazon on December 12th, 2007. Today is February 22nd, 2008 and I still haven't received it.
Website says it's IN STOCK, but won't be shipped until March 17th. WTF??
Second tier supplier has not contacted me with an explanation for the delay.
I'll purchase locally from now on.
Nice variety of commonly used Kreg screws 2008-01-20
I bought one of these kits and have used it ... replacing the screws as I go. I find I only use one or two different kinds of Kreg screws as I've gone along but it's nice to have a variety. This pack will give you a lot of choices to play around and get the feel of the Kreg Jig but it's a little pricey in my opinion.

Good product, but I want more!
More lengths, that is... I would have liked some longer sises of screws for more selction. This is a good starter kit for a decent selection of screws, and is worth the money for that purpose, but if you have a larger project in mind you should look to larger bulk boxes of screws for a more economical source.

This is a nice assortment of good quality screw.
The assortment come in a box that is larger than I expected and can hold more than the original content. An interesting point is that the Sun Seal screw are now replaced by the new rust resistant Blue Kote screw.
