Just My Bad Luck

I got the scale in a timely manner but it kept reading "error" so I contacted the seller in order to exchange it. Unfortunately they were out of stock, so they gladly gave me a refund. I think it was just my bad luck that the one I ordered was a lemon. In a way I'm glad this happened because with this scale, anyone who gets on after you can see what you weigh!

Good product, not much to look at...

This is a good product. I performs well and is very consistant with my gyms medical scales. I rate it highly. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that it does not go with my bathroom decor. It is petty, but it would be nice if you could get this in more colors.

Bathroom Scale

This is an excellent scale. The scale appears to be accurate comparing the scale against other scales that I consider accurate.

The scale was delivered promptly with no hassle.

My only negative is that it looks a little less sturdy than other scales that I have tried. It may mean nothing. Time will tell.

The weight memory feature is very nice, allowing one to determine weight loss progress.

Great purchase - solid scale

I'm tall and pretty solid and thought I would have to pay quite a bit more for a scale that would work for me. I was pleasnantly surprised to find this scale and have had it for three weeks now and find it works great for my needs. Worth the purchase if you're looking for a scale that can take some extra weight.

Great product.
I have looked long and far for a good scale.
It is SOLID when you step on it not like other flimsy scales.
It is accurate and easy to use.
I would recommend it highly.
We have purchased three other scales of every brand until we found this great scale on Amazon. Thanks to Amazon for carrying a great brand.

Finally a reliable scale

I have had this scale for several months. My previous scale seemed to vary as much as 5-7 lbs from the Doctor's office scale and would also reflect dramatic weight changes daily (even though I would weigh myself at the same time each day). This scale has proven to be more reliable and consistent It has memory sets for displaying previous weighing for 4 or 5 individual users. This is somewhat nice but one has to trigger his individual memorized weighing by pushing a numbered button at the base of the scale with his toe which is somewhat of an encumbrance - but I'm not sure there is any better way of handling this multiple user feature. All in all, I am well pleased with the scale and believe it is worth its relatively higher price.

I was a bit put off by the price of this scale, but now that I have it and been using it, it's worth the money. It's very accurate and not at all temperamental. I could tell right away that it's a quality scale. If you have a little bit extra to spend, I highly recommend this scale.

Be wary about using your Tanita in a bathroom.

Be wary of Tanita and their warranty claims. The product itself was decent, and fairly accurate, however Tanita is not a company that prides itself in customer service and product support. I used my scale in a normal bathroom environment, and after just 3 months you could see evaporation underneath the screen. I don't know if a gasket had a crack in it, or what the issue might have been, but the unit couldn't withstand the normal humidity of a bathroom. In fact, the unit was a good 20 feet from any active water, like a shower and tub.

I shipped the unit in, and without even so much as a courtesy call, the "customer service manager" returned my unit with a note that my warranty claim was refused, even though I had spoken to someone before about the issue, and said it would be replaced no problem. The customer service manager was nice enough, but said that even though it was well within the boundaries of his discretion, he was going to refuse the claim, because they refuse all like claims regarding evaporation. He even admitted that it happens fairly often.

Stay away.

His recommendation? Buy another Tanita, and not place it in the bathroom. Right.
