Fabulous tool!

You do the math...three or four day rental approaching $100! With at least two floors to do over the next 6 months the Porta-Nailer seemed like the way to go. This tool works like a charm! Once I had a lengthy discussion with Customer Service as to how the boot is attached, I was ready to go! Not even one minor problem. The finished floor looks like a million bucks! I'm ready to quit my day job! Thanks!!!!!

Flooring stapler

The porta-nailer worked great. I installed 1200 sq. ft. of red oak
bellawood and didn't have any problems with this nail gun. It worked
great and the floor looked better than I expected. Cannot beat the
porta-nailer for the price and the job it did.

The Porta-Nailer works very well. It's not as polished as the Bostitch probucts and lacks quality directions. But it's cake to figure out if it is your first time using a pneumatic nailer. The 45 degree foot is absolutely essential and makes the equivalent Bostitch like $100 more and totally not worth it. Has worked like a champ so far on about 300sqft of flooring...not a single jam or problem. I have another 600 to go so it's been a good start.

Worked great! Love it! Never misfired even once. Many problems with the rented nailer I first tried. None of those with the porta-nailer. Light weight, easy to handle, and the trigger did not require a tight squeeze. However, did not accidentally nail at the wrong moment.
The only thing I had difficulty with, was that it won't nail on it's side. Was unable to nail the quarter round in place when finished with the flooring. Awaiting a response from the factory about this issue.
I would still recommend this nailer to anyone looking for one.

Poor quality control

I purchased this tool based on reviews....should have bought the Senco.
I had to repair the nailer before I could even use it...the magazine spring was defective. I had to file the interchangeable head in order to install it. I was able to staple about 600 sq. ft. of flooring before the magazine spring failed again.

Porta Nails is sending me a new spring, (they have no service in the Sacramento area)which I can install. Would prefer a new tool.

The stapler works well when it works. But based on this experience, I will go with local vendors and brands known for reliability in the future.

I cannot recommend this tool.

Indispensable when doing a 3/8" exotic hardwood floor

This nailer / stapler has been a life saver. I am 1/2 way done with installing a new Bellawood Brazillian Koa floor (3/8") and I'd still be on the first 1/10th if it wasn't for this tool.

Works like a champ once you get the pressure dialed in.

The only issue that I've had is that it doesn't always pull the next staple and sometimes fires a blank. I've greased the chute and that seems to have helped a little.

Overall... great tool that is well made.

Left me high and dry

The stapler worked OK for about a day, then started shooting twisted staples. It turned out to have a defective nose. I called the company and they offered to send a replacement part. They also wanted me to send them the old part (they would arrange and pay for the shipping). It took some doing getting the old part off, since the threads were glued on really tight. But when the new part arrived, they sent the wrong part. They really should have replaced the whole unit, rather than expecting me to do the repair myself. Very dissatisfied with the product and the company's service.

I installed 550 square ft of Brazilian Koa with this stapler and it worked flawlessly. I am very pleased with his tool.

Used this to lay Bellawood 2 1/4" strip, 5/16" thick Brazilian Koa hardwood in about 325 sq/feet.

I'm a do-it your-selfer who'd never done hardwood flooring install before. I couldn't imagine actually doing this job without this tool.

No jams during the project. I had to play with the pressure because at recommended settings it was cracking the lips of my boards. If pressure was too low, the gun would occasionally not shoot a staple. Once I found the correct pressure, it worked like a charm.

Project turned out nice. It would have taken FOREVER without this, the correct tool for the job.
