Size a Little Small
2008-06-17
There are some great things about this product and not so great things. First the product was great for traveling as it folded up into a nice size. The night light was the perfect amount of light as it was bright enough to see while nursing but not to bright as to wake up my husband. The down side to this product is the size. My child out grew it by around 5 weeks as he grew just too long so we didn't get a lot of use out of it. The other down size is that we have a queen bed. It was very tight having this in the bed. We barely had room to move around and slept on our side because that was basically all there was room for.
a lovely sleeper

I put this sleeper on my bed, then I can take care of my little Albert at night easily. Albert used it since he went back home on 4 jun, he sleeps well on it.
he was 48cm when borned, but it seems there is not too much room for him in the coming 1 or 2 weeks. If the sleeper too small for my Albert or he grows quickly? now he is only 17days old.
Good but could be better

Its an great item for a new born baby.If you have not bought a crib or want your baby to share the bed this is a fantastic item. Its light and portable. You can move it around the house easily and lay it down where ever.
The only complaint i have is that the leg portion is fixed(yellow piece) and the length is only 24". My daughter outgrew this in 5 weeks. So consider this before you buy.
Used it for a changing table

I got this because my third baby refused to sleep in bed by himself. I was sleeping in a recliner with him in my arms before deciding to break down and get this. Unfortunately, he wouldn't sleep in this thing either.
However, I have a 3.5 and a 2 year old also. This was great on the couch as a relatively safe place to put him down for 2 minutes. It was especially great as a changing table in my living room so that I didn't have to leave my two toddlers alone in the living room to go change a diaper.
I have to agree with other posters that the length runs out quickly, but frankly, by the time they run out of room, they are starting to roll around to the point that it isn't safe to leave them in it anyway.
good solution to co-sleeping

We've bought this "little bed" because our baby was born 2 months and half prematured so when she was discharged we wanted her to sleep with us, to be able to monitor her at night and to nurse her more conveniently, but at the same time wanted her to be safe while sharing our bed.
Features that we like are:
- this little bed is easily kept in place in our bed by a large flap that tucks under our mattress, but is also easy to move around our condo so we could always keep an eye on our baby in the day
- the mattress cover is removable, machine washable (we added a folded cotton sheet on the mattress for more comfort)
- this is really lightweight and can also be folded up for compact easy storage once baby has outgrown it until needed again, probably for our future second baby (we didn't travel but I'm sure this feature would be very convenient for the cause)
- this sleeper allowed us to be close to our baby when she finally got home after almost two months waiting for her to be discharged from NICU
Features that we wish this sleeper have:
- sleep positioners, each time we put our baby in bed we had to tuck a blanket or pillow on each side to prevent her awakened (I notice that the new version does have this feature The First Years Close and Secure Sleeper)
- mattress slightly inclined
Features that we find not useful (for us):
- nightlight
Our baby has outgrown it at about two months and half old. We loved this sleeper and enjoyed each day our baby slept close to us.
item as described

the close and secure sleeper does what it is designed to do. it is nothing fancy but it does provide a nice sleeping are for baby. me and my wife bought it because our baby would not sleep unless we were with her. we did not want her in our bed so we placed her between us in our bed in the sleeper. after a couple nights of her sleeping like that we moved the sleeper in her bassinet and we havent heard a peep for a couple nights now! it was def worth the money, considering other sleepers that attach to the bed are 5x the price! i will say we own a queen size bed and sleeping was pretty tight, but it was well worth it in the end!
Strong Vinyl Smell
2008-07-09
The product pictures do not show the LARGE plastic warning label that is sewn (can't rip off) on the blue flap. It smells very strong like vinyl plastic. Something that smells this BAD can't be good. Yikes! I used a Snuggle Nest with my first child and thought I could save a little $$ by getting this similar product for my second child. Bad idea.
It does have it's uses

This was bought for us second hand by a well meaning friend. Unfortunately we can't cosleep due to a sleep disorder I live with that makes me unsafe. (Night Terrors) But we have gotten uses out of it. It's great when baby is fussy and we want him in the living room with us, we can just put him in the sleeper on the couch and we don't have to worry about him rolling off. We send it with him to grandma's house for the same purpose. Of course baby should still not be left unatended because when they decide to roll, some netting isn't going to stop them. But at least with this we can sit in our own chair in the same room instead of putting him in his crib.
Overall, it's a nice product, but I personally feel it's overpriced.
great product so far!!!

This is a great product and I would reccommend to parents who like us have a small baby! Our daughter was a month early and very small and the co-sleeper is perfect for letting her stay in bed with us but we feel safe that we won't harm her. The nightlight is great.
Our baby is a month old now and I think she may outgrow this fairly soon if she gets any taller! She was born 18.5inches but I don't think this will last past her 2nd month.
a must have

I found this and the boppy most useful in the early weeks.
I couldn't imagine putting baby girl in the bassinet fresh out
of the womb, so this worked perfectly until her legs got too long.
