American Gardner 4 inch Cordless Grass Shears
This product is great. Very comfortable to hold, cuts the gress clean and the charge lasts for at least 45 minutes. I would rate it 5 stars.

American Gardener 4-Inch 4.8-Volt Cordless Grass Shear 2008-05-20
Before I bought this product, I compared it to the orange Black & Decker which I almost purchased. After reading the reviews on the latter, I decided to go with the American Gardener mainly because of the 4-inch wide blade in comparison. I have used it twice and absolutely love it so far. It would be nicer if the battery charge lasted more than about 40/45 minutes, but even that is good. I highly recommend this product for anyone.
Great little trimmer

I have used other hand held trimmers and I think that this one is tops.
The only thing that held me back from full five stars is the battery. After full charge it works great, I have around a 5-10 min. section that I need to used it and after I do that and need to use it again it seems to have lost a great deal of battery.

This product doesn't last long at all.. I purchased one 2 years ago. The battery doesn't hold charge long and the clippers don't move even though blades are free from gunk. Stay away
Highly recommend 2008-06-13
I highly recommend this trimmer to anyone looking for one! This trimmer is lightweight, easy to use and ergonomically designed. I actually own two of these so that when the first one needs charged I can keep trimming with the second one. It take me over 2 hours to trim our yard and I have no hand fatigue using these trimmers. I also have another brand, it is much heavier, and does cause hand fatigue due to its design.
High Quality Shears 2008-06-08
A nice feature are the stainless steel blades which are a huge improvement over other brands. They are much more durable than regular steel blades which rust and dull quickly. These shears have plenty of power to do the job and I would recommend these to anyone.
Buyer Beware! Apparently Qaulity Is Not Assured 2008-06-06
The review by Karen mirrored closely my experience with these cordless clippers. The charge lasted less than two minutes each time. Clearly the battery was to blame and rather than ship them back I ended up getting a rechargeable B&D shears plus hedge trimmer unit. Contrary to other reviews posted here, those have worked well. So the lesson seems to be that each brand has its good and bad units and that a lot depends on the quality of the battery in the unit.
A real aggressive grass trimmer 2008-06-03
I had a Black and Decker grass trimmer for the last 8 years and it worked OK but was holding less charge. I went to Lowes and purchased a new B&D trimmer that was worthless, it had no power to cut grass. I purchsed the American Gardener trimmer and find it is a real go getter--cuts grass like crazy. I strongly reccomend this product. Just watch your fingers since this item really cuts grass.

This is the second time I have purchased these shears. It's really only a one season product in my experience. The battery last about two lawn edging times and then must be recharged. After a season the battery wouldn't hold a charge. However, it does work well and does do a good job of edging your lawn. The blades are very sharp and it even edges tough grass when fully charged. I feel it's worth buying, even with the battery disappointment, based on the reasonable price.
