great business calculator

great looks and features, most of which I havn't used yet (MBA student)...tough, TI products last forever. I still have a TI 82 that I bought 13 yrs ago. one criticism, the keys are somewhat hard to push down , so moving quickly can be an issue when working long balance sheets. You have to really make sure you push down on them.

the calculator's great, but for some, a text would be great too.

This is a great financial calculator, and a lot of the value comes from the user manual that provides a lot of typical scenarios. However, for example, when they talk about selling a leased asset, they talk about a percentage discount, but there's no explanation of the why of the discount. Therefore, this calculator PLUS a good second year, financial accounting text would be a super great combination.

The calculator has a high quality finish, and a good, solid feel. The buttons are not as "light" as general calculators, but has a positive click when pressed, very similar to the HP10BII. It's a bit bulky, but as a desktop calculator it doesn't really matter. Quality stuff!

Excellent functions, friendly user interface

I needed a financial calc but wasn't sure which to get. I knew of the HP series but found them archaically obsolete with so many ridiculous keypresses you have to basically memorize through route repitition and they are quite slow. I didn't want that. I wanted to use modern technology to assist me. In this case, the BA2+ has an intuitive interface with the labels for keypresses appearing on the screen itself and scroll buttons to make your way through worksheets. This allows for easy entry without having to memorize anything. Finance can be difficult enough -- no need to make life harder for yourself.

The functions are great, with everything you need. I enjoy the algebraic entry mode such as using stacked parenthesis order of operation. Coming from a TI-89, this is a very natural way of doing mathematics for me.

Only negative I find is sometimes pressing a key rapidly doesn't register. I can't find any regular pattern to this so am unable to offer an explanation.
