1 year later
2008-06-30
My husband turned 50 last April and started using an ab lounger everyday faithfully he was at 210, 1 year later he is now 175 thinner than he was when we got married and this was the only change that he did, he really does no other exercise routine. He continues to do the ab lounger every am, he looks great and states his back is great. No sciatica pain since he started using the ab lounger. He could be a poster child.Ab Lounge 2 Ultimate Abdominal Machine

Spendy, but a Good Workout

I bought an ab lounge about a year ago, and I used it every day for a month, and that was all the time it took to get a 6 pack. It's very effective for ab exercises, and it helps to stretch your back at the same time and add flexibility(warning though, don't stretch as far as it'll go if you don't have a fairly flexible back). I'd say its a little much for a thing that only focuses on one body part, but it's much less expensive than those giant machines at the gym. And as a plus, it can also function as a chair when you have company and not enough seats. Just remember, you have to keep up on the exercises, as I lost my 6-pack after about 3 days when I took a break for a job search.
Way too little BANG for its BULK

I've purchased a variety of home exercise equipment over the years, and this must be the LEAST useful & MOST inconvenient thing (not to mention pricey) I've ever run across.
Don't believe for a second that it can be folded & stashed away when not in use--it's only marginally less bulky when folded. When it IS in use, unless you have a dedicated exercise room with plenty of open floorspace, plan on rearranging the furniture or launching some valuables.
Depending on how creative you are, there are only between 1 & 5 exercises you can do with this thing, which means you're investing a good bit of money & space for very limited returns. Oh, and if you do plan on leaving it out, expect to take some ribbing when friends come over. It's instantly recognizable, impossible to hide & about as sexy as an overstuffed recliner.
Bottom line, whatever your fitness goals, there are plenty of more compact, useful & inexpensive options out there than this thing. Keep looking.
Now my back is 90% better
2008-05-15
I bought the AB lounge 2 because my lower back was always very stiff and sore mostly from not exercising. I tried the lounge for about 5 minutes the first day and my back was 25% better by the next day. After several uses my lower back was almost as good as it was years ago. I only need to use it for about 5 minutes a week to keep my back in shape. I guess if I did use it more I might get my stomach in shape also.
Good but not great--discipline and care needed

Leave the crunch in the potato chips! This Ab Lounge 2 is the better way to get that stomach you've always wanted. Unlike crunches, it supports your body, especially your head, neck and back, throughout the exercise. It even works your muscles in the upper and lower abdominals and obliques. And because you're up off the floor, your muscles have a total range of motion for better results. Rolled steel frame supports up to 250 lbs. Workout video included. Measures 40 x 30 3/4 x 4 3/4" and weighs 37 lbs. Consult a doctor before beginning any exercise program. Order Today! FitnessQuest Ab Lounge 2

Excellent product, this is my second one of these. The first lasted about 6 years and my family and I use it daily.
No my abs are not six packs but it is an excellent workout with minimal wear and tear on your body.
Sore Back

Ab Lounge may hurt your back as it has mine if you don't do the warm up excersises first. Buyer beware of back injuries!
Not all that and very bulky!

I will not try to impress anyone with any long detailed analysis, so I'll cut right to the chase...
I have now had the Ab lounge for about 3 weeks (bought heer on Amazon)
The Ab Lounge requires lots of room. It cannot be collapsed for storage. Once assembled, it is what it is. Unless you have a whole separate fitness room, or willing to give up a part of your garage / basement, or just okay with this bulky machine standing in the middle of your 'whatever', this is not for you.
As far as the exercise itself, I'm not too impressed either.
Bottom line is; I am returning the Ab Lounge as it just takes up too much room and the offered exercises are just not worth it.
Ab Lounger

This product is everything that is is advertised to be. It is an easy workout that not only works the ab muscles, but the arms, back, buttocks, and legs, pretty much an overall workout.
It is fast, less that 15 minutes per day and easy to fit into a busy schedule. Easy to store and set-up.
I am more that satisified with this product.
