Great Product

I really like this reacher for picking up smaller objects. It does a great job and the magnetic tip is good for coins. You may want to consider something with a wider grab span if you need to pick up larger items like large cans or something a bit heavier.

Get A Grip On Things!

The Duro-Med Reacher with Magnetic Tip is helping me get a grip on variety of items!
Shoes, socks, peanuts, paper clips, pen, pencil, and paper have been picked up by yours truly!
If you're like me you have said at least one, if not all, of the following way too many times.

Starting with: 'Oops! I dropped it, could you pick that up for me?' ~ 'Sorry! 'I've dropped it again!' ~ 'Rats! I can't reach it!' ~ 'Do me a favor and pick that up for me?' ~ Or in total frustration if by yourself, ~ '*#@& That's just great! Now what?' ~ 'Ooh! That hurt! I should've just left it!'

If you relate to any of the above, then this is what you need. Gaining more independence is awesome. The Duro-Med Aluminum Reacher with Magnetic Tip, 26 Inch is ideal for taking clothes out of the dryer, as suggested by the previous reviewer. Thank You, for that great idea. I am using one for the dryer and the Duro-Med 32 Aluminum Reacher with Magnetic Tip for general use both inside and outside the house. Now, I no longer have to rely on others . . . . . unless, of course, I drop the reacher! ~ Mrs. B.

Excellant Multipurpose Tool

I have several versions of this reacher. Two are folding and one with a rigid frame. All of these units are sensitive enough to pick up a dime or a grain of rice from a tile floor yet strong enough to lift canned goods and heavier items. One of my Duro-Med Aluminum Reachers is over ten years old yet functions as well as my newer ones.

I have severe back problems so the floor is not my friend. The units have had a significant effect on my quality of life. I keep a folding unit in the car a rigid one in the kitchen and another folding unit in the laundry room where it's great for removing clothes from the dryer and picking up about anything that may end up on the floor by accident.

I highly recomment the Duro-Med Reacher for anyone who has difficulty bending or is restricted to a wheelchair.

Long lasting, works on very small items.

This is a long lasting item. I bought one used 10 years ago and it still works just fine. If I can find where my son put it, because he loves to play with it. Also it works best with small items, like candy wrapers when your trying to clean up the yard. It can do large items like cans also. Avoid the one that folds if you can, because there really is no need to fold it up. Just find some place to hang it on a nail.

NOT JUST FOR THE DISABLED.

FORGET ABOUT THE REACHERS WITH 'SUCTION GRIPS' THAT YOU'VE SEEN ON TV. THIS IS A STURDY, WELL MADE WORKHORSE. ITS GOOD FOR REACHING THAT HIGH CABINET OR SHELF--FOR YOUNG OR OLD. WHY TAKE A CHANCE WITH A LADDER OR STOOL WHEN THIS WILL DO THE JOB ASAP. WELL WORTH THE PRICE.

I got this for my short co-worker and she loves it! You can pull out anything from the top shelves, and it looks hilarious!

The grasping mechanism for this device works well enough for the purpose I purchased it for - I'm short and need to be able to reach items in my upper cabinets. However, I decided on this particular product because of the magnetic tip, which, unfortunately, simply does not work. The "magnet" is very small - about the diameter of a pencil eraser - and the one on the item I received has absolutely no magnetic properties at all - objects as light as a paper clip won't even adhere to it. Had I known this, I would have purchased a different model.

Handy utensil for any room

Good grip, though width of item to be retrieved is limited. Love the magnetic tip for retrieving small metal items from tight spaces. Could be a bit longer.

Great little Grabber

Order this based on reviews for my elderly mother for her birthday. Her other one broke. Been playing with it before I gave it to her picking up pecans in the yard. It has a great grip and everything I have tried to pick up I get the first time. Also very light. I'm going to order the longer one too!

Reach-it Stick

I really like this "reach-it" stick. It is the fifth one in my house...each room has one. My oldest reacher is about 20+ years and was passed down from my Mom when she died. I have tried all the other styles, and this is the best. By the way, I keep them handy atttached to cabinet doors, my rollator, and even the headboard just using velcro.
