The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

Durable, easy to use, and comfortable

This watch survived six weeks of anthropological field work in The Gambia (West Africa) during the rainy season. Sweat, dirt, and downpour did not destroy it. The "alarm" feature can be set on "repeat," sounding in intervals, which is very useful for behavioral observations or for athletic activities. In "civilian" life, it's terrific for timing runs. It fit the wrists of both members of the lab team. The only damage suffered was that the silver paint around the face chipped away (it's gray underneath, so hardly noticeable) and the plastic face got scratched.
Definitely well worth the money...a very nice watch!

Excellent watch and well worth the money! Makes my sailboat racing that much more efficient and very comfortable to wear d/t it's small size and light weight!! One thing I would like to see in a watch this size though, would be to have the real time showing in the corner while the timer is going both in the main window at the same time, so I don't have to go back and forth and take the chance of interrupting the timer.
Excellent

I love this watch! I just began running again after 10 years and joined a running group training for the half-marathon. This watch is great for the Galloway method of training, esp. the alternating timers. I can set it for 2 minutes running and 1 minute walking with continuous or interrupted repeats. Easy to use and program!
Great watch, terrible band

Short story: great watch with great features (two time zones, multiple alarms, countdown timer, plus standard stopwatch, time/date)... but the band sucks and is NOT replaceable.
Unlike other reviewers, I have no problems with water, even though I wear mine in the shower daily and pool a time or two per week for laps (consistently for 18 months now). I love the countdown and repeat timers to set my pace and keep my workout moving (or cooking reminders, or naps:). Indiglo is a bit hard to read in dim light, but lights up very well in darkness. Buttons are easy to use and well labeled.
The watch band, however, sucks. The sides of the band, where it wraps around the face of the watch, separated after only two weeks' use. I've re-glued it multiple times; when stretched into place, it stays (sort of), but still pops out often, which is irritating if not problematic. After about one year of use, the small ring which holds the tail against the watch strap broke, so I'm left with a flapping band--which makes the watch fly off at the least provocation. And the band is not replaceable, at least not locally.
I like the look and function of the watch; Timex just needs to do something about the band.
