Black and Decker 90 minute charger

I have used this several times and am very pleased. I works like it's advertised. My older 18V batteries don't hold a charge as long as they originally did. With the charger that came with them it took too long to recharge so one short cycle per day was all that I could count on. With the 90 minute charger I can get it back to full chage before the other batteries are low.
Not Very Speedy on the large 18 Volt batteries.

I have several B&D outdoor 18-volt products and the batteries wear out pretty fast. I wanted a charger that would charge one battery as I work with the others. The charge light blinks when it is charging and is steady when the battery if fully charged. The product description states "less than 90 minutes" for a complete charge.
I have charged about a dozen 18V batteries with this charger. The average time from when the battery is first inserted until the blinking charge light goes steady indicating a full charge IS ABOUT 3 HOURS 15 MINUTES.
Since this charger is made for 9.6 volt to 18 volt, I believe the "LESS THAN 90 MINUTES" is referring to the 9.6 volt batteries. The 18 volt batteries take more than twice that long.
The stock black charger than came with the products takes about 6 hours to charge an 18 volt battery, so this charge IS faster -- about twice as fast. But the "less than 90 minutes" statement does not apply to the large 18 volt batteries -- just so you're aware.
Whether it's worth $25 to charge a battery in 3 hours instead of 6, you'll have to decide. For me, I was a little disappointed that the charging takes more than twice as long as what was advertised.

This unit works hours faster than the original charger that came with the battery pack. Plus the light blinks to let you know it's still charging.

I bought this a replacement for my charger when that finally died. This charges faster than the original (I think my batteries are lasting longer too so it may help rejuvenate older batteries ... my opinion), will handle any size of the slide style battery packs, and it's in that cool B&D orange color. Only down side is it will not fit in my drill case like the original

I purchased this charger after acquiring the 18volt trimmer/edger
After battery is charged-light stops flashing. Get it--you will be glad when you are in the middle of a job in the yard or with your other B&D cordless itens---and you can continue and finish the work.

My only complaint with the battery system is the battery life. This charger does a great job of getting your batteries fully charged so you can get back in the action.

Charges faster than charger included with tool which is good but lacking the information that a charger was included(I've bought tools where the charger was sold seperate and seen tools where the battery was a seperate item)my purchase of this item was unnecessary..
