HealthandU shipper and Linksys Wireless 2009-05-04
Linksys Wireless-B Music System WMLS11B sold as new by HealthandU. Product arrived with damage to internal packaging. Missing CDR essential to use of device. When contacting actual manufacturer, product has been out of service and product for years Three attepts to contact HealthandU by email first at their costumer service site-- no responce. Second through Amazon-- reply and forwrded to "appropriate department for possible replacement". No responce. I replied to previous email that I had not heard from anyone after a week-- no responce. Avoid HealthandU company. Total rip off!!!

Complicated internet radio 2009-04-03
I am not of the "digital computer generation." Have an old computer. Attempted to download the cd that came with the radio. Nothing is working right. Probably my fault. But it is not like plugging in a radio and turning it on. Guess I'll keep on trying, but I hate every minute of it and IT'S JUST TOO COMPLICATED!. Just get a few old saggy stations and they have advertisments! Won't do that again. Just going to buy books from now on. The fellow who sold it to me has emailed and sent me some websites. But I am just flat tired of the whole thing.

Best in price - listen to all mp3 stations from all over the world. 2009-03-16

I really like it and recommend.

Biggest piece of JUNK Ever!!!! 2009-02-01
Linksys could not have made a worse product. Terribly disappointed after much luck with their routers over the years.

Save your money, but the Grace Digital Internet Radio. MUCH better, much easier setup, worth every penny.

Disappointed with Linksys 2009-01-23
This product doesnt support WPA Encryption, I would have to hardwire it in to the network or downgrade my network security settings to WEP; I cant do either of those two.

As for the product itself, I liked the removable speakers and It is capable of searching the internet for live streaming media. However, the menu seems a bit ancient.

Requires sophistication to setup if you try to follow all instructions 2008-12-31

It is old technology but... 2008-12-01
It does the work well... You might need to buy subscription for full blown functionality.
Other then that, make sure your internet radio stations broadcasts MP3 compatible format as this device can not handle anything else - to my big disappointment. Unfortunately almost all of my radios runs ACC format. But it is only my fault, I should read user manual first... Also, it is unclear how to run Rhapsody on this unit w/o PC on the background

Great for what it is 2008-11-23
If one takes the time to do a little research on this product and upgrade the firmware you would find this a great radio for the money. I bought 3 units and have them scattered around the house, hooked into my wireless network. I'm very happy with them, they do what I desired which is to listen to internet radio. No problems updating the firmware, no problems getting them onto my wireless network. I'm happy with the sound of the speakers, I have one unit hooked into my stereo system One day I'll probably buy one of those $300+ units out there but for now I have more internet radio stations that I need

Nice device, but only after fiddling around. 2008-11-11
This product depends upon a media server application. The installation CD comes with MusicMatch Jukebox, which doesn't work anymore since MusicMatch is out of business. You can use other media servers (Microsoft Media Player, for instance), and it somewhat works. If the reason you bought this, however, is for internet radio, Media Player doesn't help. Your best bet is to go to www.linksysradio.com, download their replacement firmware, and use their Super Internet Radio Tuning Service. It updates the station list on the device and let's you tune in to stations without having to use a separate computer to run a media server. You can still use something like Microsoft Media Player if you wprefer to access music that resides on your computer.

In summary, (a) don't bother trying to get the out-of-the-box software to work, (b) use www.linksysradio.com (run by vTuner) to upgrade the firmware, (c) buy Super Internet Radio Tuning Service ($20-30) from vTuner if you want internet radio, (d) use Windows Media Player if you want to play stuff that's already on your computer.

You can find new units for $25-30 if you look around. If that's what you'll pay, it is worth having. On the other hand, if you have to pay $100 for the unit, I wouldn't recommend it.

WMLS11B - General 2008-10-01
Ok, if you buy this item be aware that its limited to mp3 audio delivery. Also, you must upgrade to the latest bios on the system otherwise is very limited.
To receive other radio station you need to purchase access to the radio software.
Also, you should join the yahoo group for this radio.

Outside that, the setup is easy (if you follow the instructions). Radio output is ok, it sound more boxy that anything else even if you change the output quality.

Its ok for this inexpensive radio.
