I have a friend that has one of these and I am considering buying one for myself for use in Paranormal Investigations.
What really annoys me is that Amazon has to be all mysterious about the price. How lame is that? Give a base price and a note that adding it to the cart gives an additional discount. I almost passed this item up because it didn't have any price listed. If I like playing games to get a price I'll walk into Walmart.

Product was packaged well and came within the time-slot it was supposed to. I was very pleased with my instrument and am getting much pleasure from its use! It has practical and scientific uses as well as the paranormal possibilities.
Great meter

This is a great little meter; solid and well-made. I use it for measuring EMF around the house. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't come with any information about how to use it - I have used an EMF meter before so I know what kind of fields to expect, the need to rotate the meter sometimes to catch the fields, and etc. But if I didn't already know this, it would be a problem. The meter also has an ELF setting and I don't know anything about that.
Good meter, lousy company. 2007-04-08
I like the meter, it found several hotspots in our house almost immediately. For that I consider it a priceless addition to the home to keep EMF levels under control. In addition, this meter prompted relocation of the kids beds away from a medium level EMF source (power meter on outside wall).
3 emails to the company for tech support remain unanswered, so don't count on any responses or support from this company. For that I am deducting 1 full star. When will these companies learn that they need to actually respond to their customer emails if they want continued business?

I used this meter in an investigation of the Brookdale Lodge near Santa Cruz - I've used it for other paranormal investigations with good results - Very good quality and simple functionality. I'm still using the same battery over a year later - Quality unit and I recommend highly.
EMF Meter 2008-05-19
I actually bought this product for paranormal research. While nothing spectacular has happened yet in that regard, I have found that my bed was positioned very close to my electrical box (which is outside my home). That had created a high EMF reading around the head of my bed. I have since moved my bed and am actually sleeping much better these days.

I found a lot of problem areas in my home. This is a useful tool to have around the house. Dont move it too fast while using it or jar it against anything or you will get a false high reading.
