Just Amazing for it's size!!! 2008-07-13

I purchased this when we decided to let our gas go and use all electric in our home. This made the transition even easier as we could take nice warm baths instead of freezing cold showers. I purchased 2 of these and plug them both in and its done in just about a minute or 2 if that. Boiling hot water. Can't beat it for the price!! 20 thumbs up!

does the job, a little small, cord too short 2008-07-11
Quick, lightweight. Note that a quart isn't much water; I'd forgotten how small a quart is, and was a little surprised.

The only negative thing about this kettle is that the cord is only about 15" long. So you've got to set it down right next to an outlet. Ridiculous.

    OK for the price 2008-07-06
I bought this kettle for my dorm. I didn't want to spend a lot on my first electric kettle. I think for the price it works well.

The disadvantages that you may want to look at are

    1) The cord length is quite short. So if your plug point is near the floor, you can't keep it on the table.

    2) The heating coil inside is visible outside and hence you will need to boil atleast 2 cups of water to keep the water level above the coil. This means more water wastage and more time to get it boiled.

    3) I don't think it has "auto off" feature. Even if it has it's not reliable

But if you want a kettle for short term use.. It works!!

    Super Buy 2008-07-05
One of my closest friends is, like me, a tea lover. For some reason, the hotel rooms he books all lack a means of heating water, so I picked one of these up locally for a mere pittance a few years ago in order to get him over the hump during his visits.
As it turns out, I now use it myself when he's not here (which is about 49/52 weeks per annum) because it heats my water a lot faster than my electric range. It's sturdy, lightweight and portable, not bad-looking, has a detachable cord, and--contrary to complaints from other reviewers--the lid easily snaps open and shut. I also like the auto shut-off feature as I tend to get preoccupied and forget that I have water heating. And because it's tallish and slim, it has a small footprint that doesn't take up much counter space. (I would, however, caution users to make sure they don't grip the handle too close to the top because the small amount of steam that escapes could result in a burn.)
All in all, I can't imagine anyone's not being happy with this little kettle's performance. I'm not thrilled that it's made in China, but I imagine that most of the more expensive models available are manufactured there as well. All things considered, it's definitely worth its low purchase price.
Hey Lemberg--you seem to have gotten access to the means of voting twice...why don't you get yourself a life as well?

    Foolproof 2008-06-26
This little kettle does what it's meant to do, simply and without frills. I've had bigger and cordless models but I've had electrical problems with the kettle/pot portion not connecting properly after a year or so of use. I've had this kettle for about 3 years now with no problems. Three of my friends have bought this kettle after seeing how easily this kettle works. While it does have a cord to plug in, it's very easy to insert and remove and take the kettle to wherever needed. One bonus is it takes up less counter space than the cordless model.

    excellent product 2008-07-22
I bought one of these teapots about 18 months ago and have been using it every day to boil water to use with a French press coffee pot. It is a simple design--no digital displays, no timers, no nothing just an off-on switch. It works beautifully. It takes about 5 minutes to boil a quart of water--about half the time it takes my gas stove. I just bought another one to use at my, summer home. If you want hot water quickly, this is a great choice.

    Shorts out 2008-07-17
Ugh! From the day I bought it I had to jiggle the cord to keep it on. I'd walk away, waiting for it to boil, only to discover that it was off again.

    Dependable little teapot! 2008-07-16
I have had my proctor-silex electric tea pot for 2 years and just bought another one for work. It has been just great and I especially like the automatic shut off. This is the way to go for someone like me who has burned several regular tea kettles on the stove because I got busy with something else.Water heats quickly and I like that it is all one unit. It is not the most beautiful looking thing but it serves me well!

Awesome Product - Electric Kettle 2008-07-14
This little kettle is perfect!!! It boils the water in no time, and holds enough water to make 3 mugs of tea or hot chocolate. Great for the office. I purchased two of these (one for home, one for the office). It's made well and the perfect size. I loved the price, and this product is well worth the money. I give this 5 stars!!

Convenient Way to Heat up Water in the Office 2008-07-14
I bought this kettle to heat up water in my cubicle at the office, and it works great. The 1 liter size is good for a day, because it gives me several cups of water without having to make multiple trips to the fountain to fill it up. The water heats quickly, and its easy to detect when the water is hot. It's nice that the cord unplugs from the back of the kettle, because I can unplug it at the end of the day as an extra security feature.

A good kettle for the price.
