I seriously love this product, best pull u bar I have ever used. I'm 205 pounds and this thing works fine for me. Hasn't hurt my door frame at all.

Great for what it's meant to do 2008-05-09
This door gym is great for someone who needs a cheap and easy tool to do pull-ups with. What is important, however, is understanding how it works. If you're facing a door, red bar in the image loops up behind the door and sits on top of your door frame. This means you must have molding on that side of the door frame and about 2 inches of space above the molding. Of course, most doors will have this, but the door I originally intended to use this on had no space above its molding. The pads on the left and right of the bar rest against the door frame on the side you are facing. This gives a cantilevered effect so your weight is pressing against the door frame, and not pulling hard on the molding on the top. However if you want to switch to a reversed pull up with your hands facing you, you MUST face the other way or else your weight WILL pull down on the top molding. There are no instructions that say this, only a figure drawing very subtly suggesting it. Once you figure that out, this works fine. Hook it on the door, work out, take it off, no tools required. If there is any flaw in the quality of the workout, it is that by the nature of hanging it in a doorway, you have to do the pull-ups with your legs bent since the bar isn't that far off the ground. I'm 6'3" and it's a little awkward to do that, but it does lend itself well to solo assisted lifts (putting your feet on a chair for a pivot point, etc.). As long as you know this is how it works, it's a great product.
Use this only on one (out of the way) door

I ordered this item a few weeks ago along with the wide reach attachment. The reason I ordered this was to be able to improve my pullups wherever I go. I coudl take this with me when I travel or visit with family.
I will definitely NOT be doing that. As a pullup bar, it works just great. At "not damaging the doorway" it doesn't work so well. It has left black marks on the doorway where the cushioning meets the wood, it also seems to have pushed its way into the wood creating a small groove. The wall above the doorway also received some marks. A large black rectangle where the gizmo rests and the red area in the middle also marked the wall.
The cushioning seems to be made of decent material. It has still kept a nice shape and hasn't shown any signs of wear and tear.
The "ends" of the pullup bar keep coming loose and I find myself screweing them back in each time I pass by.
In the end I give this product 3 stars. At being a pullup bar it is good and it is very sturdy, you won't come crashing down on the ground. BUT the whole purpose of buying a door pullup bar has been defeated because I won't be using this on any other doors much less other peoples doors because it WILL leave marks and dents. I could of bought a few metal pipes at Home Depot and made a homemade pulup bar for much less and probably had some fun setting it up!
My advice is don't buy this if you have hopes of using it in many doors. Keep it at one door that is preferrably out of the way of where people will see.
I suppose I will also add that I bought the broad reach attachment but will return it. The door I am using is in a narrow hallway which isn't wide enough for it to fit and I am not going to damage the kitchen door to be able to use it.

Great product for the price. The whole thing is very sturdy. Of course you can find a better bar out there, but probably not for this price. Make sure you measure you door though, there are couple doors in my house where the bar will not work properly. Good purchase overall. I highly recommend it.

Easy Assembly, Installs & Uninstalls in Seconds, and Actually Works! 2008-04-29
I was skeptical at first because their claims sounded too good. I thought I'd give it a try since I can always return it when I order from Amazon. It arrived in a box with a few screws and a diagram. It took a couple of minutes to assemble with no tools, and super easy to install, literally in seconds. I was worried that it will break the doorway with the weight pulling on it, especially when my husband tried it, but I guess door frames are sturdy enough to hold up that much weight. Not that I can actually do a single pull up without a chair. Amazing how much workout you can get out of such a simple and small equipment.
Best pullup/chinup bar period 2008-04-25
This is a fantastic pullup/chinup bar. Installing onto the doorframe takes literally 2 seconds... same for removing. For a person that is horrible at pullups, I have to say this is the best.
I've only been using it for a few weeks and my pullup count has more than doubled. The only downside to this product is its documentation. I decided not to look at the diagram provided and looked at the box art and figured it out myself. Took 5 minutes at most.
simple, but very effective 2008-04-24
Considering the price, you really cant do much better. If your like me and didn't want to put any permanent changes into door frames or have something that you could travel with, this is the item for you. I've used it countless times and have had no problems. Everyone should be able to lift their body weight, and this is a great way to learn how!
Spectacular! Sturdy and Safe. 2008-04-21
Spend the extra 10 dollars and buy this one instead of the other brands which don't use cantilever technology. I put it together in under 5 minutes and it works to perfection. It's very stable and gentle to the door frame as well. I recommend this to everyone.
