Nice Keyboard (CANCER?)
2007-10-13
While I should probably be very paranoid about the cancer warnings especially sense my mom went through hell because of her cancer I have eventually lost my fear of that. However, I'm still deducting 2 stars for them even using such material. What the hell is up with a warning to wash your hands after every use? Either that paper is paranoid or I am. Either way I don't think that's acceptable. The keyboard does exactly what I want with my Cubase software making up for whatever features it lacks. If I didn't have that software then I would probably deduct a star because I don't care how cheap it is, it uses cheap cancer causing materials.
Keystation Keyboard

I bought this keyboard for use with Garage Band. It works great with this interface. I am able to easily create songs and transpose the music. This piece suits its purpose perfectly. I teach Core Knowledge music to K-2 students. It was a snap to take it out of the box, plug it in, and play. Very good item.
Simple, portable and powerful.

Specifically for me, this keyboard is a great simple tool to learn piano basics to accompany my music study and as a guitarist I feel this product has given me a simple and uncluttered workspace for me. The MIDI allows you to use software like JUPITER 8V or the MINIMOOG very effectivley...simply amazing.
Not a Neewbie solution.

I bought this keyboard reading the reviews and thinking it was easy to setup. This keyboard does not have sound and does not come with software that anyone would be able to use.
Great value

This keyboard performs great for the price... Didn't have an extra $1500 lying around so I picked this one up... works great with my Reason 3.0 setup...
XP doesn't always recognize, materials are CARCINOGENIC
2008-02-08
Thankfully another reviewer brought to my attention the fact that this M-Audio keyboard is made of chemicals including lead that can cause cancer. You are actually advised to *wash your hands* after handling. Will you find the warning displayed on the box? Nope, it is at the bottom of the last page of the manual. Nice.
Add to this the problem I have with Windows XP recognizing this keyboard (have to really work at it) and this is a total piece of junk.
Excellent Unit with some reservations
2008-01-01
This unit is great. You can't beat it for the price.
I have one minor complaint, however, and that stems from the fact that the sustain peddle add-on does not appear to properly record a sustain MIDI instruction via this keyboard. That is, when one seeks to edit the sustain signal, it does not appear to be recorded properly. This inadequacy appears to be due to the keyboard.
The Perfect Midi Controller on a Budget
2007-12-17
If you read a negative review of this product, don't be surprised to discover misspellings and grammatical errors in addition to a "it doesn't work with XP" rant...these are the markings of a stupid person who isn't exactly clear on what it is that they have bought. If, however, you know that you actually want an inexpensive midi keyboard then I would highly suggest this one.

i wish I could give you a review but I cannot get this keyboard to work.
Great keyboard for the price
2007-11-29
The Keystation 49e was much bigger than I expected it to be, having 49 keys 4 octaves). The driver software was easy and simple to install and the keyboard itself functions easily with the included USB cable (MIDI input-output is also supported). I use the device on Reason 3.0 and have gotten great results. My only complaint would be that the advanced functions require many different key combinations (most of the keys have some sort of function when pressed together with the ADVANCED key). Thus I give it 4 stars. The price was great, too, it is probably one of the best cost-to-performance ratios in this category of products.
