Too Outdated to Work!
2008-01-12
This game sounded great, and I was excited for my son (5) to try it out, but it was too outdated to work on my Mac. I couldn't seen anything about the system requirements on Amazon- but it doesn't even work in Classic mode (Mac os 9). My only option is to pick up a first run emac. Too Bad!
A 10-Year-Old and still love it review

I love this game and have loved it since age 5, it only works on one computer in my house though, :( but I love all the stories and things you can interact with, this is the only game I have ever seen that actually does all this, I haven't played it in awhile though, because I had lost the CD, but when I tried it on a 1-year-old computer, it kept looking for WINSPOOL.ddl whatever it is, my dad installed it into the right spot, but it still didn't work, so I have to always wait when the 5-year-old computer that it works on to be availible.
Well pleased.

My two younger grandchildren normally fight over who wants to use Orly when they visit. With multiple computers, only one could use it at a time. With the purchase of another Orly software, there is now peace at my house when they visit. They like other software but eventually go back to Orly and I like that because they can be creative and their attention span seems to be longer with it. The price was excellent on this product and the delivery was speedy. Thank you, Amazon.com for helping solve a problem at a frustrated grandpa's house.

Both my 1st and 3rd graders have enjoyed this software package. It's a fun and amusing way to learn about computer graphics -- drawing, painting, storytelling.
Buy this game!

We got this game for our oldest daughter at 3 1/2 and she still will spend hours on this game at 7 years old. I can't say enough about it. Very cute character, wish there were more Orly story games to purchase.
Great for girls AND boys.

I've always loved art when it naturally came upon me at a young age, so when I first experienced Orly's Draw-A-Story, I didn't know what to do first! So I started off with the doodle pad where you can practice drawing. I especially like the stories, which are so imaginitive. My favorite is "The Strange Princess." I got to create my own submarine and an eye for it! There's the junkyard where you can watch your own movies come to life and if you click on the tire labeled "Learn to Draw," you are taken to the doodle pad where Orly will give you instructions on what to do. I really do miss it, since I've had fun with art with Orly and her frog, Lancelot.

Software this good doesn't come along often

I have 5 children that I home educate and Orly and her humorous frog keep my children engaged. You can draw whatever you like when prompted or use the predesigned pictures and they will come to life in any of the great stories your child chooses. So much to see and do funny little pop ups to make this cd so interesting, even the eraser argues with undo. TOO funny! Your kids will love this CD.
A favorite--year after year

Our daughter was about 5 when she first discovered Orly's Draw-A-Story. Five years later, it's still her hands-down favorite. Even though she's heard the stories over and over, she illustrates them differently each time. The software encouraged her to write and illustrate her own story, as well.
She doesn't like win/lose type games, so this software particularly appeals to her.
If you want truly creative software, this is the best out there. I've looked for similar software and I haven't found anything like it.
orly rocks
