Super easy, super cheap -- just what we were looking for

It's amazing how few options there are for hooking up multiple computers to a single printer. This was a great alternative to all the wireless routers, wired routers, and office-appropriate megaservers that are just way too big and expensive for a home office environment. We hook it up to each laptop and use it as, essentially, a toggle switch. It's easy to install, easy to use and incredibly inexpensive. All-around satisfied customer!

Just plug it in and you can use it! Very easy on Windows XP.
The only semi-negative thing is that it beeps when you turn your computer on. First time I heard it, I thought it was my motherboard telling me I had a hard drive failure.

The IOGEAR USB 2.0 Peripherals Sharing Switch (GUB201) has had some bad reviews like it worked for a short time and ... Well, I have been using the hub for our Epson printer, my laptop and my wife's tower system and it has always changed when toggled, and the printer works when selected. I have not tried to use it for scanning yet, but am sure it will be ok. I am pleased.

I have 2 computers and one printer. I plugged the USB2.0 switch in and it worked. You can select the computer by the switch on the top or by pressing the num lock key twice. It automatically switches to the first computer that you turn on.

IOGEAR GUB201 Dual Computer USB Switch 2008-05-18
I needed a USB switcher to enable sharing a HP C4280 printer between my PC and iMac. I read a couple of favorable reviews, then bought it on Amazon for about $28.
This will be a short review, it works. One very minor thing so you won't be surprised; when switching to the PC the Mac says it can't find it's keyboard, I just close the dialog box and keep going (keyboard works fine). I did not load the included software to enable switching from the keyboards as I like to keep things as simple as possible. The switch is inches from reach from either computer so no need for the software. There's a switchable beeper that lets you know when the switch is moving from one computer to the other, also a flashing LED. Nice design, super small and very inexpensive. It even comes with a cable for your printer!
No need to keep looking.
Works just as advertised 2008-05-09
This product works just as advertised. Easy and convenient switching. I am currently using this connected to my airport express and directly to my macbook pro. I usually want to print wirelessly using the airport express but at times I use the switch to scan images from my multifunction printer. This item has met my needs so far.

I bought the device to switch between a PC and Mac with the same mouse and keyboard; a very simple setup. It worked for about 20 minutes, then stopped working completely.
