I think you can do better. 2007-07-27
I bought this antenna and the NETGEAR WG111 antenna to compare the two products. The D-LINK DWL-G122 regularly connects at only 36Mbps while the NETGEAR WG111 plugged into the same computer sitting in the same spot connects at the advertised 54Mbps. Perhaps this is just a fluke with my computer or the way the factory default step downs are set up but this is what I have observed.

OK but gave out 2007-07-22
Signal was okay + spotty at times, had to adjust the adpapter by pulling it out and plugging back in to USB port to reconnect the wireless signal. W/in 6 months, adpater has died. Purchased replacement adapter: Trendnet TEW423PI 54Mbps 802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter - and has worked great so far, stronger signal/connection although it has to be connected inside your PC.

Didnt work!!! 2007-06-18
I did not find this product to be easy to use at all. In fact I have not been able to use it with the internet yet. It took so long to connect with my DSL, and finally when it showed that it was connected it still did not show any display of webpages. Very unhappy with this product. Not as easy as it claims to be. However, this is just me I've read really good reviews and this is why I purchased this product. I tried calling the costumer service, but it's more complicated than any other costumer service out there. So many buttons to press in order to get to where you think you want to get. Not happy with this product, but that's just me.

Great product for a travel... and locate signals... 2007-06-16
I bought two of them. The first one two years ago, was a spensive item at that time but do all that i want. I put it in the window and receive several signals for wireless routers very well; the cord its a good design according to the product. I bougth a USB extension cable to try to rise more signals but only work with a short usb extension(like the pendrives bring). I try to use with a 5 feet extension USB cord and the device doesn't work.

In a travel i use the extension cord like a tv antenna some times i want internet in my room when is only available in the lobby. But some times the device do the job properly. When i was in the lobby the i use directly in the usb port and get all excellent signals.

My second device was bought after my boss want my first one. He gime a offert even that his laptop has an internal Intel Wifi G, he want to put outside his window to get free routers because the range of laptop wirelless was poor.

But the sad news was that one night i forget to put the device inside the room and start to rain; i dry the device properly and works again. I left in a pocket in another opportunity and i wahs my clothes. I dry again and clean and works fine. I left again outside my window in a direct sun place(i'm in a tropic zone), and after try to use again was not recognize anymore. Its sad i believe that only have 2 lives.

But i recommend by price and hardworker. If you need more connection capability and range maybe you need to chose a spensive device like linksys.

RETURNED 2008-02-08
I had to returned the item due to error on my part. Returned handled professionally.

Great with XP but 2008-02-08
I have been using this adapter for almost 3 years now. Works flawlessly with windows XP. Vista, however is different story.

Caution: Only version D1 of this product may work with Vista. D-link only provides beta version of drivers for D1 meaning it may or may not work. I have version A2 for which D-link did not bother to update the drivers and hence 3 stars. Not wanting to spend another $50, I will be sticking with XP.

Just as Good as It Gets! 2008-01-05
I've been using this adapter for more than a year with very few problems, I would say it works 99.9% of the time.
Trust me it works as well as any other top of the line adapter.
I have owned Linksys and other brands and I prefer the D-link one.

D-Link make it pretty easy to get a wireless network up-and-running 2007-12-14
The G-122 works like a dream with Vista once you can find the driver at the D-Link site. Vista sorts out all the configuration for you.

Also works well with Windows 2000 but you have to configure it using a utility, which is not that intuitive to use - required a visit to D-link support site to figure out how to set up a secured network.

Didn't work on my Windows ME PC when the wireless network was secured but did work when it was unsecured.

Had to change my router to channel 11 to avoid interference from my 2.4GHz Panasonic cordless phone.

Altogether a pretty good product for D-Link.

worked great (for one week) 2007-07-29
Inexpensive ($30) and easy to install on my Dell Vista desktop. Worked fine for one week, then kept having problems detecting the signal from my wireless access point. Coughed up $69 and bought a Linksys wireless-G USB adapter which works almost problem free (at 54 Mbps speed). Guess you get what you pay for....
