Very useful if you want to have your contacts data at hand without having to go to your desktop or laptop. Also works as a remote control for all your media (TV, DVD, DirecTV, DVR, VCR, etc.)
Great PDA if you can still buy it!

I have owned this PDA for four years now. As technology with cell phones has replaced some of the functions, I do not use it as much as I used to. I still prefer it for browsing the web vs. a cell phone.
This PDA has worked flawlessly for its entire life. It works great with the IPAQ GPS in the car. It is how I listen to Audible books. Depending on what you need a PDA for, this one is great.
If you have any questions about this rather dated PDA, please feel free to contact me.

I used to have RX3115, but I took the LCD out to replace the cracked LCD on HX2415
frankly, I like RX3115 better
I wanted RX3715 once, but the price just draw me back; once I have enough money, it's discontinued, all I found online are either used or recycled
luckily, I found one when I traveled in Hong Kong (Chinese version)
used it, and like it pretty well
the LCD is EXACTLY same as other QVGA RX and HX series, I put Brando on for screen protection
d-pad is pretty comfortable to press, but the application buttons are a little bit hard to press because they're small
the most impressing thing is battery time, I can get 10 hours+ mp3 playback with LCD off, 3.5 hours when playing music from file server through wifi/LAN, almost 8 hours of internet radio (WMP with LCD off) through bt
CPU is OK, but not good enough to watch videos with tcpmp
it has 60MB of free ROM (since it's Chinese version, the free ROM is fewer), I read about ROM lockup issue, and I don't encounter the problem (yet, but there's ROM change trick can fix)
also, you can add A2DP support (the software can be found at HP taiwan site), but it makes the system a lot slower when A2DP is active
the internal cam is not good, it's fine outdoors, but it's blur indoors, worse than some 1.3mpx cam phones (I don't need the cam anyways)
conclusion: this is the best ipaq I ever owned, though it don't have CF support, 4GB SD is getting cheap now; you should backup, format, restore the internal ROM every month to make it work properly, of course, you need to backup the entire system every month, or before/after you install/installed application, or added new contacts and/or settings
not for everybody, but it does have a lot for the $

My attraction to the RX 3715 is the bundle of features it contains, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, reasonable memory with a 1 GB SD card, and the little digital camera. If you are looking for more speed, this is not for you. But, if you want a multi-package, it is.
Icing on the cake is the Nevo feature that allows you to use it as a remote control on devices around the house (or elsewhere).
You have to learn your PDA first...

If you're a musician, photographer, or storyteller - as well as a person frequently on the go - the powerful HP iPAQ rx3715 Mobile Media Companion is your dream tool. Start enjoying music, photos, and video wherever you roam, whether into the backyard or across the continent.
Awesome!

I bought this as a multiroom multi device remote control after I accidentally broke my Sony Remote commander. It does many functions well. Really too many features to elaborate here.

I like the camera on this device, but indoor pictures do not turn out well, (much too dark). I had one for about 3 weeks, and it just "froze" on me. I reset the device, but that screen "froze" as well. Unuseable! I exchanged it and have had this one for about a month. Now, I just lost everything in memory. It's like the machine just came out of the box. I'm thankful I had everything backed up. Now I am not sure if I should just take it back, reload everything I lost or look for another, more reliable device.
Very good PDA.

When I bought my PocketPC I knew that i wanted more than a Palm Based System would offer. I have been pleased with it.
Pros
No software problems in 8+ months of use
Nice interface
Built-in Software met my basic needs
Pretty tough- I've dropped it at least ten times, and aside from the screen (where something fell on it) I haven't had any hardware problems.
Good memory, plus plenty of expansion with SD card
Small enough to fit unobtrusively in my pants or jacket pocket.
Cons
Camera quality is very mediocre if in anything but bright natural light.
I did break the screen, but it was my fault, and it was very expensive to fix. If I hadn't had it for only 5 months I would have bought a new one. The repair service was much faster than they told me. I was pleased with HP's service in that regard.
Overall a good Pocket PC.
Has it all.....but must use protection!!!

I bought this back in May, it has been an awesome investment. The screen looks great, the sound is great, and it runs great. What everyone else says is true, the camera only works in natural light for it to take OK pictures, you'll have to soft-reset it a couple of times, and the screen will crack if you're not careful. But, I have loved having one and will replace the old cracked one with a new one.
