It makes you want to play more
2008-05-19
After I had the action set by a professional, this guitar became my personal favorite! It is so easy to play and sounds just wonderful. I have Elixer nano strings on mine and change them every 6 months or so to keep the personality of this guitar coming through. It seems much more responsive than my other guitars to a wide range of playing styles, from very soft and caressing, to very hard and aggressive. It is more susceptible to the environment than my other guitars, so when I'm going to play with others (mainly in a band at church) I take it there early and let it acclimate and then tune it up. Once I do that, it keeps its tune very nicely and sings. The lows are warm and resonant, and the highs are just bright enough to let the sound of the 12-string come through. The finish is really nice. The pre-amp is good enough to not get in the way, but not as good as with my other guitars. It's good enough though. For the price, there are many alternatives out there - including brands that give you more "bragging rights", but this guitar more than any others has me wanting to pick it up and feel the smooth fretting and hear more of that silky 12-string sound. I real winner.
