this guitar wall hanger is well made, i bought it because i have a small place and thought it be good to get the guitar off the floor and on the wall to free up space, turns out my wall space is small too so where the heck am i going to install it? my problem but the hanger is well made and looks good.
Strong and Reliable 2008-08-03
It's been 2 1/2 years since I hung this on the wall. It's very sturdy and securely holds my acoustic and I bought another for my heavy Strat. Make sure you use the foam rings for then end of the fingers, they prevent slippage. Mount to a beam with the included 2" screws for the best strength.
Good for Guitars, but not Banjos. 2008-05-19
Works beautifully with my guitar- nice and sturdy, keeps it away from the wall, etc.
However, it doesn't work that well with my banjo. I guess the head is too narrow and the weight rests on the tuners. It's a bit unnerving. I guess I should have bought one specifically for it....
Anyway, it's a great guitar hanger at an excellent price. Buy one!

Wall hangers are good space-saving ideas, but I'm one of those who thinks they can stress necks, depending on the body/neck weight distribution and balance. I made my own hanging bases - just a carved slab of wood, really - to support the instrument from the bottom. The top hanger now just serves as a rest, but depending on the guitar's balance I'd recommend a heavy rubber band or something to stretch across the prongs if there's any tendency for the guitar to tilt forward.

I bought 4 of these wood hangers for my guitars and they all came with the same type of wood. Unless the wood is very different I don't see the problem because you really don't see much of the wood anyway. Great product at a great price. I did fine wall studs though and I think if you can, that is the way to go.

A beauty of form and design. VERY easy to install. Makes the guitar look as if it is floating off the floor. If the guy who designed this worked at the big 3 car makers, they'd be back in business!

The instructions are confusing. They tried to cram them all on the back of the small package and there is only one, useless drawing.
My chunk of wood is nothing like the photo and is, in fact, ugly (right half is really dark wood and left is really light).
This model holds up to 15 pounds, even if screwed into plain dry wall without a stud (package comes with drywall screws). I might trust my light strat on it, but, due to the fact this hanger projects so far out from the wall, I think this one is really meant for acoustic guitars. I'd get the electric/metal base model "String Swing" for a Les Paul or bass.
Other than that, this is a perfectly functional product and this seller shipped it within a few days. It arrived brand new and intact.
