Good, but could be better

This case appears to be fairly sturdy for the average musician. I don't think I would entrust my mandolin with an airline in this case, but for general storage and local travel it's fine. I rated it a 4 (a low 4 - I almost gave it a 3) for a couple of reasons:
1 - When I took the case out of its plastic wrap I found part of one of the latches laying loose. I'm not sure if it fell off during shipping, but it looked like the pin that held the hook on wasn't properly bradded. Although I was able to get it fixed, I prefer things to arrive without need of repair. (Hopefullly mine was an isolated incident.)
2 - The first time I tried to put the mandolin in the case, I had to practically force it in. It's really snug - almost too tight! I considered returning it for a different style, but was told that this was the case that was recommended for the KM-630 mandolin that I bought. I found that if I put the peghead end in first, then lowered the body in, it went in a lot easier. I decided that this would be preferrable to loose motion. (If the mandolin had been as much as 1/8 inch longer the case wouldn't have worked.)
Overall, this is probably a good case. After the repair and then figuring out how to put the mandolin in it I'm satisfied with it.
