Key User Features The Blast features all-locking blades. To release the interior blades, all you have to do is press the grooved portion of the push-lock button and carefully rotate the blade. The regular and hard-wire cutters are located within the plier jaws, and the straight knife blades may be easily sharpened using standard sharpening methods.
To access the interior features of the Blast, just grip the handles and swing them open. Each interior blade can be opened using the nail nicks, and so can the scissors. When the scissors are fully extended, they lock securely into place for safety and ease of use.
Optional Accessories (not included)
The Removable Bit Driver Accessory is sold separately, and makes a great addition to the Blast multitool. This removable bit driver works by installing right on top of the integrated Phillips screwdriver blade. You can also add the Universal Tool Adapter to your Blast arsenal. This adapter is a standard 1/4-inch hex drive that locks in three positions.

Great tool. Poor sheath.

The tool itself is very user friendly and has a comfortable grip. The sheath is worthless. I can't even get the tool inserted as the rivets block the leatherman from going all the way in. Since it is not leather, it will not stretch. I ended up throwing it away and using a different holder altogether. For the money spent, it should have had a decent sheath made out of leather like leatherman used to do.

Quick Repair from Leatherman

The locking tab broke on the day my Leatherman arrived. I returned it to them and in less and (1) week it was sent back fully repaired. I think that Leatherman is indeed the best on the market. I own most everyother multi-tool made from Scharde to Buck, Gerber, SOG etc,

I bought this craftsman because of the work I do and because of the many tools. I know I'll have the tool needed to get the job done. I bought another leatherman from a sporting goods store then found this one at Amazon for just a little bit more but with more tools. The quality is very good and I am very pleased so far with the purchase. If it holds up working near the beach then all the better. The last leatherman I used (and lost) didn't have a problem for over 12 years of using it even though it was exposed to salt water.
Was sent broken, to my Dad 2008-06-14
The Leatherman tool is a necessity for any person. Though,I bought this for my daddy for Fathers Day. He just called me and said it was sent broke. The locking thingy was broke already. Yes, I paid a discounted price on it though, it was not a cheap price nor was it stated it would be a broken one.I know the company Leatherman, will fix it, but this is such a freaking hassle! Fathers Day presents should be discussed in a matter of joy, not a "sorry honey, it was sent broke"! Yes,this is a very minor thing in our lives, but this is really an unnecessary problem! I did NOT pay a USED price!This is my first item bought on here, and I am not very happy, as of now. But, Leatherman Tools rock.

Good tool so far 2008-06-04
I've owned one of these tools for nearly a year now. I have had no problems with the tool itself. Others have said that the locking mechanism is easily broken, but I have not had any problems with mine so far.
The only bad thing is the sheath they provide with the tool. It is pretty much impossible to put the tool into the sheath, as it's too small. Expect to take the sheath out of the package and throw it away - it's el-cheapo Chinese quality and doesn't even fit the tool.
Truly meets its reputation 2008-04-11
This Leatherman tool is fairly lightweight and compact but it sure does meet the reputation of a larger and heavier Leatherman. The quality of this Leatherman is excellent and I believe it will be durable and last for a long time.
Reliable Product continues 2008-04-10
This is the third Leatherman product that I have owned and it is living up to the reputation and needs I expect out of this company. While some have talked about the leather case being too small, they are probably not familiar with the "technique" in which you have to slightly tilt the unit at an angle to get it to fit snugly into the case.
The only fault that I have found is the unlock mechanism is a little tighter than need be, but overall it doesn't detract from my satisfaction of this product.
