This printer has very good color quality. My sister used to print pictures with it. She says it is the best one she has ever used.

This is the second HP7450 Photosmart inkjet printer I have in use, neither have presented any problems and will keep using both until I can't find ink.
JUNK!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!

I've been using HP printers forever, but this one is a real disappointment. It has NEVER printed correctly. Out of the box it printed like the cartridges were out of ink. I've purchased two sets of new ink cartridges and it still prints extremely faded pages. The only way print outs are legible is if you print with best quality and heavy ink selected. This is inexcusable given today's technology.
it works

This is an excellent printer when it works. I have had four of them so far. #1 was DOA. #2 worked for a while. #3 was DOA. #4 is doing a good job.
The big let down
2006-11-09
I had this printer just short of 1 yr and I loved it. Totally loved it! It began saying the paper was jammed as it would only take the paper in half way. I worked with HP on this for a long while when they sent me a "refurbished printer" to replace mine. I was happy for 2 1/2 months. Then this new printer began doing EXACTLY the same thing - it alternates between paper jammed and cartridges stuck!. I contacted HP again but this time my warranty is up as they only honor the original purchase date, not the replacement. So, I'm stuck with quite a few ink cartridges (2 of each) and no printer. I am hesitating buying another HP but what other printer is out there ??????? I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER AS I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF IT AND THEN THE CUSTOMER IS STUCK!

My second HP printer dead in one year.
2006-04-01
I had and HP 5150 for about a year and the it stop recognizing the catdriges so I went and buy this one... is the worst investment I could ever do, I use it a lot less than the one before and after a couple of months when I try to print something it says that "the printer cradle is stuck" or "paper jam on the printer".
Whats going on whit HP? Selling garbage printers now.
Paper jams
2006-03-28
I use this printer for a few days, and the main problem with it (and probably with many HP printers) is demands for a good quality paper.
If you put cheap 80gm paper in it it will jam each second page (too light paper - it pick up 5-6 pages at a time) :(
If you put cheap photo paper it will not feed it (too heavy paper - it doen't bend properly in the feed unit :(
The old cheap Lexmark Z25 work with this paper without any problem.
So buying this printer you bound yourself to buying expensive paper (HP of course :) expensive cartriges etc...
Another problem is drivers. There is so many of stuff installed and hangs in memory. Even if you choose minimal installation, which should be a drivers only, you got HP Image Zone and some other software installed. Just to say - installation themself (copying/installing files) takes ~15 min on P4 2.5G.
Otherwise it is fine - printing quality is good and photos are perfect.
HP PhotoSmart 7450 Inkjet Printer
2006-03-22
I had always been told that HP printers were the best inkjet units on the market and after my experience with this PhotoSmart 7450 I am now a true believer. There is simply no comparison between this printer and the Canons, Epson, and Lexmark units I had previously owned. This thing spits out color prints 5 or 6 times faster and with at least twice the print quality of any of my former units. The only fault I can find with it involves the cost of the ink cartridges. I really like the memory card reader built in the front of the printer also. I have not had a chance to print any photos with it yet, but with the quality of the regular prints it produces they should be impressive. As long as you can afford to feed its cartridge habit, I would not hesitate to recommend this printer to anyone!
