Editorial Review
Optical Digital Interface Cable provides superior accuracy for signal trasfer of digital information from component to component. This cable is an excellent complement to your component entertainment system. Better definition and true clarity. It is specifically engineered for a digital signal data transfer. For highest quality signal transfer in digital components using Toslink optical to Toslink optical connections. The optical signal offers more digital information at higher speed and only a cable manufactured with glass fiber will provide this extra data. Because the information is converted into light impulses that are sent over the fiber optic cable, the signal is immune from RF or magnetic interference. Fiber optic Toslink connections are used on high-end stereo equipment and often seen on MiniDisc players & recorders. Can be used for high quality signals found in: CD, DVD players, VCD, LD, DTS & Dolby Digital Audio Receivers, MD, Digital Audio PC, Divx, DAC, Digital Satellite, Digital Receivers.

Great cable 2008-06-09
This cable works great. Came in fairly fast and hooked up no problem. Not an issue with it.

Good thing about this cable is that it can double as a whip. Makes a wonderful melee weapon while LARPing with your friends. Anyone getting too close to you is going to feel the wrath of the Toslink!

As Advertised! 2008-06-09
I ordered this item from Abacus 24/7. As another review noted, they sent the same type of cable illustrated above. Shipping was fast. I had the item within 3 days. Thus far the cable works perfectly, and seems sturdy enough. For the price ($4 and change w/shipping) you can't beat this deal. The cheapest toslink cable I could find was at Wal-Mart and that was $16.95! I recommend this item and this vendor!

It Matters From Whom You Order This Cable 2008-06-03
I ordered this toslink cable from Abacus24-7 and received the exact cable pictured and described on this page. The 6' long cable I received has the heavy 5.0 mm jacket and the two connected end caps as shown. The heavy jacket has a very sturdy feel and nicely protects the inner fiber optic cable.

As pointed out by other reviewers, when purchasing items via third party sellers, the shipping charges apply to each item ordered, so (at the time of this writing), each cable from Abacus24-7 really costs ($1.40 + $2.95 shipping) for a total of $4.35. Still, at $4.35 per cable, this is a great bargain.

The performance of the cable is exactly like one would expect from a quality toslink cable.

I plan to purchase two more to replace some other toslink cables which do not have the heavy jacket like this one.

First time 2008-05-22
This is the first time that I used Digital Audio Optic Interface Cable. I'm very pleased with the audio sound.

Better than expected 2008-05-20
After reading the highly mixed reviews, I was wary of ordering this cable. Eforcity shipped within reasonable time and the cable arrived in perfect condition. The connectors fit snugly in my Sony DVD player and Yamaha receiver and do not fall out. The protective caps are attached to the cable as shown, preventing them from getting lost. Many reviews could not believe how thin the cable was, but I found it to be very durable and plenty thick. I honestly could not believe the quality for this price. If the mixed reviews scare you, I would be sure to order from Eforcity. The sound quality is excellent without cutouts or problems of any kind.

Need an optical audio cable? Buy this one now. 2008-07-24
I have purchased 4 of these cables over the last several months and I have no complaints. This is one of those "it works or it doesn't" kind of things. 5 stars or 1 star. And this is definitely 5 stars. The build quality is solid, and there is no difference in audio quality between this cable and a $40+ optical cable from one of those other companies.

Same goes with HDMI cables, by the way. All these great reviews don't lie. I was skeptical at first but at this price you can afford to take the risk, although there really isn't a risk. It just works. Stop reading this and order some cables.

Great optical cable 2008-07-13

Using this cable to send audio (CD) from the Sony Blu-Ray player to my Samsung Home Theater system. It works flawlessly and you can't beat the price.

Don't buy into the cable hype. This cable is affordable and will do the job very well!

Fiberoptic cable 2008-07-05
Great price. I don't notice a difference between this cable and my older "brand-name" cable which costed 10-15x more a few years ago ($30 aproximately). Shipping was expensive and costed more than the cable.

NOT the cable for the XBox 360 owners! 2008-06-21
I bought these from Vortex Cable via Amazon. I don't know if all sellers are the same, but they combined shipping for me. I ordered five and paid the same shipping for one.

As people have stated, this cable is digital so it has the same signal quality of the "ripoff" cables costing $50+.

The only thing I noticed was that it would not snap tightly into my 360. No problems on the PS3, TV, or Onkyo Toslink connections though. I bought a $12 Phillips cable from WalMart and that snapped into the 360 perfectly.

I saved a ton of money using these for the other connections, and would highly recommend them to anyone but 360 users.

Quality cable @ a great price 2008-06-13
Like other reviewers have stated I ordered this cable from Abacus 24/7. Total with shipping came in a little over $4. Plugged in the cable and all is good. I can now get Dolby Digital into my receiver from my TV. :)
