should have saved my money

I bought this fan off of amazon in January after our old one broke, we are both fan users all year long. Unfortunatly you can only buy fans during the summer around here, not in January, so we went online and despite all the bad reviews we went ahead and ordered it anyway. The manual is absolutely horrible, my boyfriend put the parts together by common sense faster than me using the manual.

It's on the wobbely side and as the fan turns it rocks back and forth off the floor. After about a month, coincedently after the warranty runs out, the thing just stopped working, you can hear the motor working but the fan doesnt move. Evertime we want to use it we have to unscrew and rescrew the knob in the middle and spin the blades a million times to get the thing to start. I mean i guess its better to buy in the winter because i only paid $29.99 for it and now the same exact model sells for $129 in june but still, its a hassle, save your money!! I think i'll just trash it and buy new at walmart for 20 bucks.

As others have stated, the manual is a joke. It does not properly explain how to put this together. However, it is not difficult to figure it out.

The screws and nuts they sent were the wrong sizes. 2 of the holes drilled for the screws were too small.

The fan will only stay positioned so it blows towards the ceiling. When you push/pull on it to pull the fan so that it blows where you want it to, it makes the clicking noise it should but will not lock into place. As soon as you let go of the fan it pulls itself all the way back and points so it blows toward the ceiling.

There are many, many fans out there for the same price. (29.99) Buy those. You'll save yourself the trouble of returning this one.

The fan was in more pieces than most I have put together before. The instructions are a joke, small diagrams and low resolution. One of the plastic parts you install to adjust the height was so sharp it cut me . Have to take the dremel rotary sander to file down the jagged edges.
However once assembled the fan works great the remote is simple and easy to use with excellent functionality.

Poor quality, terrible tech support - fan failed after only 3 months

3 months after purchasing this fan the unit fails to power on, whether using the remote or the push-button controls. This happened after a few days of inconsistent response to button pushes, and randomly blinking lights on the control panel. Seems very much like a wiring issue which makes the fan a potential fire hazard.
3 weeks of trying to get through to tech support (warranty is good for a year) with no response. I've emailed, gone through the website contact, called and left voice messages. Nothing.
I will avoid Soleus products in the future.

The first fan I ordered came without a fan blade! At the time I was not sure of the return policy. It was too late for a return, so I ordered another fan just like it (both at the time were about $30 apiece with free shipping). Second fan went together quite easily and worked great. The fan was still a real bargain at the time.
PS-I have plenty of spare parts anyway.

Good Fan For The Price, Some Quality Issues

This fan is a great deal, very powerful and quiet, and looks pretty sleek as well. The assembly was fun, you kind of have to figure it out on your own, the instructions don't help much. Once you get it up and running theres so many options like a timer, different speeds, quiet modes, swing function, and also the neat remote control. Now the negative, the fan isnt as sturdy as id like it to be, the bottom sticker is starting to come off, and the back handle on the back of the cage was bent when it got here. My little brother also ended up dropping the fan to which I had to take it apart to get it to work again (I just moved the chip around and checked everything, and it magically started working after that) Overall this fan is a good buy and worth the money, just take care of it!

Very easy to install, very quiet, remote remote works great, and etc.

You can not tell that the fan is working that is how quiet it is.

I highly recommend the product.
