Editorial Review
The Freud Professional Dado Blade set features re-sharpenable blades that can deliver a smooth, flat-bottomed groove in a variety of woods. When used on table and radial-arm saws, the blades can cut slots, grooves, dadoes, and rabbets in hardwood, softwood, or plywood with the same high-level of finish quality. They've also been laser-cut and sport carbide tips. In addition, this set has a feature that limits the amount of bite a tooth can take, reducing the risk of kickback. The anti-kickback attribute makes these blades an ideal choice for underpowered saws. Shims are also included in the set to help micro-adjust path width, and the set comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

What's in the Box
2 blades, 5 chippers, and shim set.

Good Dado - but Does Not Fit Jet XactaSaw Deluxe! 2008-07-27
Great dado set - very high quality, flat-bottom dados. It does not fit the Jet Xacta Saw Deluxe tablesaw, however. While the tablesaw's dust shroud does have a semi-circular cutout, it is not big enough to accommodate the dado set's dial. If possible, you should check for fit on any saw with such a shroud before buying.

Infinitely adjustable, yet easy to use. 2008-07-21
I've used this extensively on my Grizzly 1023 table saw with great results. I would highly recommend this blade set to anyone. My advice on using it:
* when you unbox the blades, measure the chipper thicknesses and label them "A", "B", "C", etc., according to the manual. There one that's thinner than the others, and it is required for certain thickness combinations; identifying it by sight is almost impossible. I wrote on them in silver Sharpie and it solved that problem.
* mark the "zero" on the thickness adjusting dial. Turn it until the back of the dial is perfectly flush with the back of the blade and write a "0" above that tick mark (again, silver Sharpie works great). That way, when the manual says "a 1/2 inch dado is these three blades plus four clicks" you'll know that you're really at four and not, say, three or five.

great dado set for cabinetry work 2008-06-12
This my third Freud blade and I agree with all the reviews about how clean and smooth the cuts are. The quality of this blade is excellent! The case is plastic and uses dimpled plastic to separate the outer blades and chippers so there are no damage to the carbide tips.

Once you use the right combination of chippers per the chart, it cleanly and easily cuts through oak to particle board. No chipping or tear out.

The only improvement to this dado blade would be to stamp the chipper with its thickness. Otherwise it is a very good purchase.

Splinters, I'm not happy. 2008-02-11
I am using this dado set to build cabinets that are made of quarter sawn red oak. The blade works fine if you cut with the grain but is nearly useless for cutting tenons. Even when using a backer board the wood splinters at the ends. Also, the bottom of the cut is uneven. If you want quality results, look elsewhere.

Good Dado Set 2008-01-22
Bought and used on my Ryobi 10" table saw. It makes nice cuts through oak. I would buy this set again. If you buy a cheaper set, make sure they are rated for the RPM of your saw. This set is rated for a Max 11,000 RPM.

Money well spent 2007-10-25
Super-easy to use. Makes shims a thing of the past. Freud makes excellent router bits and saw blades. If you're willing to pay the premium, Forrest is another fine company for blades. Not having to deal with shims was the biggest selling point for me, well worth the cost of admission.

Accurate dados with the SD206 2007-10-17
The dados produced by the SD206 were accurate, clean and splinter free. I have a typical underpowered contractor's saw and the 6" SD206 cut 3/4"X1/2 deep dados in oak with little effort. The bottoms were clean and the sides were perfectly square and parallel. Great set for the price.

excellent dado set! 2007-09-23
A 6" dado blade installed on a 10" direct drive table saw [Delta] is an excellent way to reduce motor stress. I usually never cut a dado deeper than 3/8"-1/2". The cut is flat and clean. I did have an eight inch dado set up and immediately noticed the advantage of the six inch blade.

I recommend this Freud SD206 dado saw product.

Never got the blade, Timberline order cancelled 2007-09-03
Horrible CS. I have bought from amazon for years but Timberline made some excuse about a price error and it was the price for one chipper blade only, blamed it on amazon and would not honor the sale. Amazon would not do anything to help on 3rd party sales. Amazon is usually very good on honoring their own prices, even if it was an error and the order was placed with them. Not so with Timberline.
I have had good results with Freud blades and have sd508 and sd206 blades. Do not know personally about this set.
