Print resolutions run at 1200 x 600 dpi and copy resolutions runs at 600 x 600 dpi for sharp production. Great for the price

I've had this multifunction Canon for a year now, and it's worth every penny (not that it cost much). I use it for light home office duties. Not only was the setup easy (essentially plug and play with USB), but it prints crisply and quickly. No jams yet, and I'm still on the toner cartridge that came with the printer. The copy function works quite well. I have not had occasion to use the scanner function much. The one downside is that the unit is rather large and heavy, but on the whole it is par for the course for this kind of multifunction.

This printer has all the functions I was looking for. I did have to call support to customize the paper due to the fact that I need to print a special size that is not configured in to the printer and they were very helpful and resolved the problem quickly. I am dissappointed a little with the scanning properties. It is very slow and there seems to be a lot of steps to save files.
Overall, a great printer for the price.
Best bang for the buck. 2006-07-18
For the money, you cant beat this printer. It works as advertised! My kids would go through ink on a ink jet like it was water. But they now have been printing quality papers for school, without bugging me about the ink running low. I was spending 60 bucks every couple of months for ink. This laser printer was the best investment for me...it actually is saving me money. My whole family has been printing on this machine for a couple of months now, and the quality of print is still fantastic! I have done alot of research, and when it comes time to replace the toner cart on this machine, it is the cheapest of all the lasers I have looked at. Alot of laser printers one will eventually have to change the drum along with the toner cart, and that is very expensive. This machine however, one only has to change the toner cart, because everything is built into the cart. I can replace this cart for under 60 bucks, (just google search for this particular toner cart). I love it! Thanks Cannon.
Hard worker - no problems 2006-07-12
I own this printer for about 8 months and I am realy happy with it. Printer settings could be more easy or the LCD monitor could be larger but you get used with it. I print hundreds of A4 everyday and paper jams happend only 2-3 times. This is a very good score! I do not use it as a scanner very often but scannings look great too. Fully recommended for home and office use.
the printer part works great 2006-05-10
and the scan quality is wonderful. However, the scanning software's functionality is limited. Scanning functions are not too intuitive.

I would say it jams only a little more frequently than I'd expect, which is mildly annoying, but overall this is a great printer for the price, especially with the ability to create pdf documents included. The image/print quality is good. We use this as our main office printer and scanner and probably print 50-100 sheets a day.

I concur with reviews above. I got this in, oh, July or August last year. I really pretty much have loved it, and it's great value for money; the scanner is perfectly good, it's a good laser printer, it's extraordinarily convenient having xerox capabilities in my home office. But the paper started jamming very regularly a few months ago, and the front cover kind of broke off so that I had to jam it on with my foot in order for it to print, and now it's definitively broken--the toner cartridge is stuck, can't get it out, and clearly this machine's life is over. And it's May--that's less than a year life. The price is so affordable, and I use the printer heavily enough, that I don't feel that I didn't get value for money. But from a recycling/ecological point of view it's fairly appalling. I will just get a new one and throw this one away, because the cost of getting it repaired would be too excessive; but this is terribly wasteful.
Reasonable performance but durability lacking

The performance of the MF3110 is okay (especially for the price) but I found that the durability was lacking--my died after 5 months and it would cost more to ship it and get it fixed than to buy a completely new one. Also, the output is not the sharpest compared to other b/w lasers.

I had this machine for two years. The first year was great. Now, it gave me all kind of the troubles. The worst one is the paper jam. it will jam even you only put one page in the paper tray.It also has problems with paper setting. It will give you error messages even when you have the correct setting.Horrible product.
Good Laser Printer for the Price 2007-01-12
I bought this Printer about 18 months ago and I must say that so far it is going good. I and my kids do a lot of printing (8-10 Pages/Wk) and so far I did not need to change the toner. Although I am dreading when I would have to beacsue it is expensive..
There are some minor bugs with this printer. Sometimes, the scan or copy button doesn't work. After you press scan or copy, it gets stuck. I have to power cycle the printer before it start working. If the paper is low, the paper tends to get stuck. So, I keep a good supply in the printerall the time.
Over all I give it 4 star beacause it does the job and it is fast.
