Better if you add something to draw them in I placed a piece of wax paper with peanut butter in the chamber that they will not get to and had great success rounding them up.

I am so disappointed in this product. It is easy to set up. I tried it without bait and with two different types of bait. All I got was a lot of mouse droppings outside of the trap and on top of the trap, but no mouse! We either have a very smart mouse, or this thing doesn't work!

Caught 3 the first night, 2 the next night and 1 the 3rd night. Got this item and set it up in a corner with a cracker with some peanut butter on it in the corner so the mice would either have to go over it or through it to get to it. Think I might be getting low on mice now, but I'll keep it set up, just in case. I think if you let the mice stay in it, they are more likely to get killed when another one sets it off. Also if one got stuck in it just right, the others might escape, so you might not want more than 2 to stay in it, if possible. Just my opinion.

I haven't caught anything yet, so I cannot honestly tell you whether it works or not! We caught the mice the old fashion way snapper's. We got them all that way before I got this. It looks to be a good product, very fast service!

Like A. Reese, in another review, I too am an animal lover and purchased this trap to catch and release mice. I've found that 15% of the mice I've caught have either been maimed or killed horribly by getting pinned/squished between the outside wall and the rotating trap mechanism. I thought the first time this happened was possibly my fault for not winding it up enough, sadly I later found out differently. I checked the manufacture's site and they make no claim to a humane trap. I will no longer use it.

Completely ineffective

Catch'em all, with this round-the-clock sentry. Simple, yet unbeatably smart. Sure-Set, sets right the first time, every time with no baiting required. This galvanized trap catches multiple mice per setting. Mice trigger the paddle wheel, which pushes them into the caged end. Trapped mice attract each other, so it's possible the whole family may be caught. Trap is easily emptied. No wonder it's the World's Best Mousetrap!

We've had problems in our house with mice for the last 2 years. Glue traps seemed cruel, but additionally we were sick of disposing of disgusting traps, and the mice seemed to be adapting to the glue traps. Regular traps would have to be set 3-4 times before catching a mouse. Somehow they always would trip it without being caught. This trap is genius. We put it in a "mouse corner" and caught one within the first 20 minutes. By the end of the first 12 hours we caught 3 mice. I put a cracker inside to help lure them in, although the first mouse was caught without any bait, I suppose they just like to explore tunnels. Either way this thing can catch limitless amounts of mice and I feel its still safe with my dog around. Best mousetrap I've ever used.

I bought this and several other traps. I was impressed with this one because it cought 3 mice on the first night. Sure it might take a day or tow to work but it does. It actually worked to well I had it up on a shelf (where I thought no mice could reach it) went to get it one day only to find 5 mice dead in it. Lesson: Don't leave it active. Anyhow it could be better by having a plexy glass door instead of a metal one so you could see inside it. If it was wider it might not catch the tail when triggering I never had a issue but looking at other reviews. Guess they could do these improvnment but then it would cost twice as much. In my case the trap worked as advertised.

Great product. Lots of mice ? this trap will do it better than the rest. I saw this on Discovery channel and I've used the single shot mouse trap and I wanted to catch as many mice in one night as I could. The mice enter in the side and the "flapper" flips them into the container.

Not a gentle catcher

As a mouse catcher, the machine does the job. But the manual does not explain, that the more you wind up the spring, the more violently the mouse will be flung into the trap. It is also difficult to know when you have the mouse: The one I cought kept completly quiet, and when I gently turned the trap it held on, so I did not realize until the second day that I was starving a live mouse.
