Be careful the image is wrong!

The unit pictured is APC BE750G (newer model) while the unit that is described and that is shipped to you is APC BE750BB (older model). So yes the price is 20 bucks less but you don't get Master Control part and cooler looking unit.

Apparently I got this UPS, even though I don't have it. I look in my order history and this UPS comes up as being the one I ordered. I apparently got the previous generation. :(
From looking at the picture, it looks like my biggest complaint was fixed. They had the power button right next to a receptacle. On more than one occasion, I shut down master power to everything, of course I was in the middle of encoding a DVD.
I was coming to order another one of these as I just switched around my computer setup. I moved my cable modem, switch, and USB hard drive to a central location away from my desktop. I am ordering the Cyberpower unit, as it can be wall mounted.
This is a nice no frills UPS. As others have alluded to, don't use the included software for the mac. It is built in and will be detected once connected. The included software does not work under Leopard. The new unit may be worthy of a four star review.

This is my second unit. The first one was used on my TV/DVR due to power fluctuations in my area. I liked it so much that I bought another one when I installed a Windows Home Server. I wouldn't install a key piece of electronic equipment without one.
Functions as advertised 2008-02-18
I bought this model for my computer several years ago and it has worked fine. I am usually nearby whenever my computer is running, so I did not load the software that would shut the computer down following a power outage.
Recently we needed a second unit for my wife's computer and this seemed to be the logical choice.

APC BE750BB UPS.
Works as expected right out of the box. No problems and quite adequate in terms of power and switching speed. As the battery must be connected, I noted that the wiring could have been about 25-30mm longer for ease.
I bought two units. They are robust but quite heavy.
They WILL NOT pay you for equipment damaged! Warranteeless! 2008-07-16
Just know going in - if your equipment gets fried, they won't pay you a dime. They will blame it on anything from faulty building wiring to bad grounding and deny your claim. Why don't they just print '$500,000,000,000 WARRANTY' on the box - if they don't intend to stand behind their product? I had one computer system that was wireless and it's only link to electricity was through an APC battery. Lightning struck and it died and started to smell burnt. I sent in the claim and the unit & got what looks like their standard protocol - sorry, no replacement. The system was only worth $200 which is far less than our company spends annually on batteries. I won't use APC again.

My product was receieved timely and it works great. I did not receive a disk but was able to go to the site and download whatever I needed. I am very happy with my product and would recommend it to a friend.
Great APC Product 2008-04-27
I've had the 500VA version powering my NAS and related peripherals for about a year and the thing just works as is typical with most APC products. I recently put together a desktop computer and am using the BE750BB with it. The most important aspect to me is that it notifies the computer and the NAS of power loss so the devices can gracefully shut down without risking data loss.
I prefer this particular product line because the products are relatively small, all the power outlets are on top of the unit so it is more convenient, the outlets are in two distinct banks (one bank for battery backup, one bank for surge protection), and it has ample outlets to obviate the need for a separate power strip.

Easy setup, outstanding monitoring software, great value
With my wireless router, pc, monitor, phone, printer and fax hooked up will provide approx 48 minutes of backup. In addition, has automatic shutdown when power remaining is below a configurable level.
Monitor keeps you informed on what has happened.

Great product! Especially like the plug-ins on the top. Makes everything easier when installing it in a tight space. Software that came with UPS works very well as well. No problems to date!
