Very simple and very effective

This is the best thing you can buy to develop your back if you travel a lot or cannot install a pull-up bar on your door frame. I rent an apartment and this is perfect for me. You might want to wear pants or long shorts so that your knees don't create friction against the door. Otherwise, the exercise is just the same as a pull-up bar, that is if you are trained enough so that you don't need to swing back and forth.
Love them!!

I've been trying to make the transition from working out with weights at the gym to doing body weight exercises at home. I stumbled across this product while doing research on Amazon, read the positive reviews and thought it worth 20 bucks to try it out. From the first time using them I knew I was a fan. They attach easily to the top of the door and feel very sturdy when you're hanging on them. I've replaced the free weights with chinups and pushups and getting better results than I ever did at the gym. Not to mention that I'm done working out in the time it takes me to get in my car and drive to the gym. Give these a try, I think you'll like them.
Great!!

I don't know how they did it, but these things really hold you up and create a perfect pull on your door. Pull ups are essential to building body strength and these handles are perfect. Amazing!
Great price, Great product

These are very small and compact and can fit in a laptop bag for travel. I have used them on many different styles of doors including those cheap hollow doors used in most homes. I have had no problems whatsoever on any doors so far. Highly recommend for traveling or just for someone at home who does not have access to chinup bar. These work fine for forward or reverse grip and you can obviously move them for close or wide grip (limited only by width of the door).
Great durable product... but could lead to the demise of your door

Make sure you have a 3-hinged door, and do the pull-ups on the side where you can't see the hinges of the door. Having so much pressure on the side with the hinges could cause the door to break. I'm pretty light for my age (115 lbs.) but I noticed the top right corner of my door bending inwards during my pull-up. Thus, I found it to be safer if I did it on the side where you couldn't see the hinges.
I've got to give these credit though. They look really flimsy, but they are really actually very durable, and will definitely keep you up (no need to worry about the straps breaking, and you falling... as long as you have a tight grip with your hand, and a strong 3-hinged door, you'll be fine).
I ordered this with Lifeline USA (the makers of the product) through Amazon along with the TNT Power Cable, and they were nice enough to throw in some free stuff (they included a free jump rope, and push-up bars). Also see my review for the TNT Power Cable (see product link above). I would definitely recommend both. If you are currently on a hunt for new workout equipment, search no further... this is a great product! :)
Good if you are on the move or renting.

I don't really enjoy doing pullups with this unit.
I can only do about 8 pullups, but since my current exercise program has me doing about 40 a day 2 times a week this is quite difficult. With a pullup bar you can put your feet on a chair to limit the strain, but that is impossible with this unit. Also, in my house I can only use it on the front door as it requires a very thick door for proper use.
On the bright side, the product is very small and travel-ready. If you can already do 10+ pull ups for 2 reps it is an excellent product, but if you are just starting out I would recommend bands or a pullup bar instead. I would get a pull up bar, but as a renter I would rather not drill holes in any door frames!
well made but afraid that my door cant handle it

just what the title says, basically. however, if you're stuck between this and an expensive chin up bar, i recommend you purchase this. much easier "installation" and removal because it requires absolutely no nuts and bolts, just a locked door. cheaper too
The BEST Chip-Up Bars
2008-06-23
I've probably bought 3 different pull-up bars over the years, and this is by far best for a number of reasons:
1) Ease of setup/takedown; 5 sec max
2) No permanant damange to door or scraching of paint/damge to wood frame
3) Portability; I carry them to work and home daily; I've also taken them on trips and have had great work-outs
4) High Qualtiy: I've had them for a few months and with daily use show no signs of breaking soon.
There is no downside. I wish I would have made these bars, such a simple yet functional idea!
Great pullups!

These work great, although they took me a few minutes to get used to. I had to first overcome the fear that it was going to rip the door off the hinge or ruin it somehow, and I was able to get over that and after doing a few the door was still in great shape, like it was before I started doing them. It took a few seconds to be able to get some pullups done, I think this equipment makes it harder to do a pullup because there is no swinging at all.
Some people mentioned getting free equipment with their purchase, I only ordered the power chin ups and that's what I got, there wasn't the extra power cords or jump rope others mentioned receiving. They did include a book on how to use and "install" the power up chin ups and a product catalog with other workout products. I'd recommend these to friends, they work really well.
Great Product!!

These chin ups work amazing because they're easy to take anywhere and it's actually a challenging exercise. Unlike the pull up bar, you can't really get momentum or swing going so I feel it's much harder but the results are better.
